"Well then go ahead and have another. It's really good." she nods in spite of the redness creeping over her face, for once not from embarrassment.

"Some hero, if I've never heard of him." she chuckles and absentmindedly taking another spoonful of food and soon being reminded why she wolfed down the other bites as she gets a good taste of the spiciness. She grins through it, but it is very clearly getting to her now.

"Nothing wrong with some mindless indulgence, wouldn't you say?" a voice calls out and a person that somehow managed to sneak up behind Nailah and stay out of Janice's field of view. And as Nailah begins to turn in a startled motion a hand holding a conductor's staff snaps out and hits the Sphinxling across the solar-plexus, making her choke on the spicy chicken and struggling to even stay in her chair. "But I'm afraid I must interrupt!" she cheerfully adds as Nailah is clutching the tablecloth and coughing, lifting her baton to tip her hat back a little and peer at Janice from behind her rabbit mask.

"You remember me! I'm touched. And don't worry about her. She'll be fine." she says, hooking her foot around one leg of Nailah's chair and at exactly the right moment as Nailah is shifting her weight swipes it out from under her, sending her crashing to the ground, still coughing up spicy chicken.

"You on the other hand. You foiled my heist!" she twirls her baton around her index finger a couple times before snatching it out of the air and pointing it accusingly at Janice.

"Oh you think the moment I leave her alone she isn't going to jump me? Wanna bet on that?"

"You're dang right I--" Nailah starts up but March has already flicked a stray drop of sauce off the table that flies right into her open mouth and hits the back of her throat with uncanny aim and timing.

"Straight to the point then. Very well, I can't keep this up forever." she says with a glance at Nailah.

The winged girl kicks at the ground to push herself away from March and end in a roll to get back on her feet. She glares at the strange woman but seems to hesitate to do anything.

"You made the needle skip the groove. But the point. The thing that I want - for starters - is the roughly fifty-thousand in cash that you cost me." she says, jabbing her baton towards Janice, the tip stopping an inch from her face.

"Does this get-up look like it has pockets?"

That's when Janice reaches up to try to grip the baton and shove it back at the thief, while letting her frustration flow, along with her power, out from the gesture.

"Yeah, didn't exactly expect you to carry that kind of cash a--" is how far she gets when the baton gets pushed back and in trying to regrab it quickly the end pointing her way ends up pushing into her palm and the whole thing flips into the air and lands square on the top of her hat with a painful 'thud' before clattering onto the table.

"Ow! Cut it out."

"You first," Janice says with gritted teeth.

With a sharp tug she pulls the tablecloth off of the table, sending the baton tumbling into Nailah's reach.

Swinging the tablecloth around, she tries to toss it over the thief's head so the woman can't see.

When Janice used her power she could see a noticeable fumble in almost all of March's movement. Almost the complete opposite of how she's moving now. Even before Janice is reaching for the tablecloth she's loudly tapping her foot on the floor in a steady beat. As Nailah grabs the baton rolling off the table March is moving.

One step back from the table. One.

Hand to the hilt of her sword. Two.

Kick the toppled chair towards Nailah. One.

Draw the blade and slice through the tablecloth in one smooth motion. Two.

Leap sideways onto the table and roll over her back into a crouch. Three.

Kick Janice square in the chest and send her sprawling to the floor. Four.

Janice's head is swimming as she tries to get back up, struggling to get her breath back.

A cringing patron flinches from the noise and knocks over the candle at her table, spilling wax and starting a small fire.

Another patron has ducked under the tables, and is trying to make an escape by crawling.

Then, a bottle of Prosecco in a waitress' hand suddenly blows its cork, going careening off the ceiling to parts unknown.

The patron, startled by the loud noise, jumps with a start...

...banging his head hard against the edge of the table March is standing on.

Standing on the table and brandishing her rapier at Nailah March's eyes are darting around the room, tapping her foot as she's trying to figure out what's happening with little success. By the time she's sorted out the beats of the unfolding sequence of events the table underneath her feet is rocked and sends her tumbling, barely managing to roll herself backwards and into a crouch.

"Get me my money, you walking disaster zone!" she says as she stands up straight and dusts off her jacket. Spotting her hat on the ground she kicks it at a wall, ricocheting it towards her hand swiping it out of the air and placing it on her head and finishing with sheathing her weapon. "You have a week. Tick-tock." And with that she zig-zags through the chaos of the other patrons and staff towards the door.

Nailah, torn between sprinting after the woman and checking on Janice decides on the later. This was embarrassing but she'd feel worse if she abandoned Janice, so she hurries over to her side.
