Nailah blinks at Janice and then bursts out laughing. "Oh gee... you're right! Sorry, sorry, this isn't really funny just... it's a little funny."

"Yes. Yeah. Let's go. Sorry, everyone! Some people, am I right?" she tries to play things off as they make their way through the gauntlet of stares from the other guests and staff.

Janice tosses more bills at the table than the meal costs and hurries after Nailah, letting out a long breath as they get outside.

"Oof... they were mad." Nailah grouches. "And they weren't even the ones getting knocked around!"

"Yeah well... nobody planned on dinner and a show," she sighs.

"With you," she quickly adds.

"I mean, unless you've reached your limit for 'date' and all," she smirks wearily, elbowing Nailah as they walk.

"No! No no no. I just like flying and I like flying with you s'all. And it's... something I know how to do..." she says, one hand at the back of her head and smiling awkwardly.

"I mean I'm probably going to beg you to help me figure out this marching band weirdo who thinks I owe her fifty thousand quid but in between there may be kissing."

And Nailah didn't really know how to do either of those things, considering how she kind of got her butt kicked by March, but it's a strangely exciting thought. Scary, but exciting.

"I mean... you don't gotta beg. That sounds fun." she says, forcing herself not to just straight up stare at the floor as she blushes.

Come on, Nailah. This isn't any scarier than chasing after a crazy supervillain... At least it shouldn't be!

And yet.

She's quietly walking for a moment, Janice's tease awkwardly hanging in the air. And then she suddenly leans in and places a kiss on Janice's cheek.

"...why Miss Weaver, I'm scandalized," she teases in a mock-posh voice.

The smile she has is far more earnest, though.

Nailah shakes her head with a chuckle. "I don't care if you invented it, I'm revoking your right to the English language. You beefed it. Complete buffoonery."
