Curiosity killed...

"Dammit, I measured like three times before I ordered this," Janice grunts as she fidgets with a recent internet purchase in her dorm room early one Friday evening.

Laura opens the door, bouncing her head a bit with her headphones on. She stops cold and slips the headphones off, the music just loud enough to be sort of heard. "Do... do I want to know?" She says, quickly stepping into the room and closing the door behind her.

Laura finds Janice in the midst of trying to force herself into a shiny black catsuit.

"Wait, wait, this is perfect! You can help!"

"I can?" She says, giving the suit a critical look. "Help with what exactly?"

"Help me get this damn zipper up. She's going to be here, soon..."

"Okay, okay," Laura says, setting her headphones aside and pushing the stop button on her phone before tossing it on her bed. "Where did you get this anyway?" She comes over and begins inspecting the zipper, giving it an experimental pull.

"Where all good things come from, Laura. The internet!"

It's a tight fit, to be sure. Still, Laura has a better angle on it than Janice does, and after some grunting and puffing from her roommate the purple-haired girl starts to make reasonable progress.

"You don't shop for stuff like this on the internet," she says, "Next time, ask. I can point you to a good shop I found in London."

"Wait, seriously? I was rooming with an expert all this time?"

"Expert? I don't know that I'd call myself an expert on anything, but yeah, I know a thing or two."

"I promise I'll keep it on the down low if you're a sexy jewel thief or something."

"I'm not a jewel thief," she says with a laugh, tugging the zipper up further, "God, they really botched this."

"Well I guess a certain amount of... uh... decolletage is part of the picture..."

"Depends on what you're going for." She pauses, "What are you going for?"

"...a girl who kind of needs a sexy jewel thief to get her attention."

"I see. You've got shoes right? Or was this as far as your plan had gotten?"

"I was thinking like... some boots?" She says uncertainly.

"I'll take that as a no then," Laura says, taking a step back and looking at Janice. "How are you on heels and how tall is your date?" She asks as she kneels next to her bed and pulls a plastic tub from under it and opens the lid.

"She's like five-six without the wings?" She cocks her head with curiosity at the tub.

The tub seemed to be packed to the rim with boxes of various sizes and no labels. "No tall heels then," she says, glancing at Janice again, pulling out a box and tossing it onto the bed. She puts the lid back on the tub and slides it back under the bed. "Don't know if these will fit you. You are a bit taller than me, but might work and they won't make you substantially taller than your date." She pulls out a pair of short boots.

"I dunno. Certain things being at eye level might be funny to see the reaction," she chuckles, sitting down on her bed and pulling on the boots.

"Ah, one of those dates," Laura says, looking at the outfit and tapping her chin. "What sort of jackets do you have?"

"Okay, don't judge me. I don't think you've seen her blush but it's super cute," she says

"Oh shoot, this is going to be cold. I'm not sure I've got anything that really... goes with this."

"And my stuff is probably going to look too small on you... but it may have to do." She says, pulling out another bin and popping it open, revealing a few jackets. She pulls a leather-ish one out of the bin and shakes it out, offering it to Janice. "This one's a little big on me, so maybe it'll be okay."

"Thank you so, so much," she says as she slips it on.

"The date is saved!"

"I'd like my stuff back in one piece, please," she says, tugging the coat a little bit to check the fit. "Hair looks good. I think you're all set."

She grins, heading out of the dorm room and down the hall towards Nailah's.

Basil was also on his way towards Nailahs room... kind of. He was actually on his way towards Colette's, which was next door.

As she walks that way, Janice is trying out various walks that she hopes convey 'sexy jewel thief,' settling into a sashay as she nears the door.

Is nose bleeds were for real sexual responses, Basil would definitely have one by now.

And Janice couldn't see him so the uncomfortably awkward face he was making couldn't telecast either.

Instead he stood stone still, an empty suit.... that might be staring?

Janice is just about to knock when she notices the hovering suit isn't moving on.

"Er, can I... help you?"

"No... Jezabelle She-" Basil paused, adjusting his satchel to be in front of him as opposed to at his side.

"You know what I think the answer is probably still no. Sorry for the bother!" He replied abruptly, shuffling through his bag to try to find the appropriate keycard to get into Colette's dorm quickly.

Basil unfortunately doesn't find the right one the first time around, swiping the card he uses to get into closed access areas at work.

"Sonnuvabitch...." He whispers under his breath.
