" I avoid the stuff." He grabbed a reusable bowl he used for microwaving food and dumped the food into it, laying it on the floor for Coal.

The literal bird dog eagerly digs in, grabbing a sausage with his enormous beak and jerking his head to throw it further back in his mouth.
