[Relationship] Not a Drill!

"Except that distractions can help you train!" Jez protested between puffing breaths."Having music, or a podcast, or someone to talk to can get your mind off of the numbers, or how far you've gone. It can help you ignore the burn. What's wrong with that?" Jez obviously didn't see the point as to why they had to concentrate on running, when to her it was meant to build up endurance. It wasn't like it was for reflexes or something.

[Nika Novak]

Nika pinches the bridge of her nose before responding.

"Yes, once you're not breathing wrong and punching the ground with your feet. Fundamentals first." she says before adding a muttered "Undisciplined Westerners..."

[Katarina Karkov]

"How do you BREATHE wrong?" Katarina panted. "I've been doing it all my life! I think you are just being nitpicky now!"

[Jezabelle Sherlock]

Jez was really only doing so well because of some of her experience in the past. She didn't do much hiking but something she did have experience with was protests, and that often involved marching and standing for hours at a time.

"Nika, when did you show or tell us how to do it the right way?"

[Katarina Karkov]

"Maybe Nika's afraid I'll like to watch her running, too," Katarina teased.

[Jezabelle Sherlock]

"I'm waiting for situps and crunches. Aaaaabs."

[Nika Novak]

"I just tried to! Forget it, this was a mistake." she says, letting her treadmill carry her off. "You can keep the bags, I suppose. Put in junkfood and cartoons, I don't care."

[Katarina Karkov]

Katarina frowned, and looked over to Jez.

"No, Nika, wait....I am sorry, it is just...early and surprising. Come back, and teach me how to punch someone."

[Nika Novak]

"<You don't really want that. If you still want to work out, there's a workout plan in the bag. You can ask Miss Sherlock to teach you, since she clearly knows better.>"

[Katarina Karkov]

Katarina frowned.

"You have made your opinion on Miss Sherlock quite clear, Lt. Novak. You have also made your opinions on what I do and do not want very clear as well.

Take the rest of the day off. We will discuss this later."

With that, she flicked her hair backwards, and walked out a different exit.

[Nika Novak]

Nika stands stockstill, clenched fists at her side. This had gone about as poorly as it possibly could have. When was the last time Katarina had called her Lieutenant Novak? The first time they met, maybe at some official function since then. But never like this. With poised anger and disappointment. When she hears a door close behind Katarina she finally breaks composure and lets out a frustrated scream, accompanied by a punch one of several basketballs sitting on a rack. There's a brief flare of power and the now impervious-to-physics ball slams through the rack, folding it in on itself slightly as the basketball embeds itself in the wall with a loud crack, followed by the quiet sound of basketballs bouncing as they roll off the demolished rack.

Jez kept plodding along on her treadmill, in all honesty she was a little afraid to stop at this point.

"... for what it's worth, I was only teasing...."

"Just... shut up, you!" Nika barks before storming off herself without as much as a glance in Jez's direction..

With no one to supervise that she was doing her run, Jezabelle turned off the treadmill, gathered up her things, and headed out to go back to bed. She'd have to check in with Katarina later.
