"Good or bad," Laura asks, glancing up from a tablet to look at Janice.

"...some of each?" She says, looking to Laura.
"Weird, weird night."

"Just tell me my clothes survived intact," she says, taking a closer look as she sits up on her bed.

"Yes. I wasn't dropped and... well, there was sort of a fight but it wasn't a fight fight?"

Laura raises an eyebrow, "You had a fight on the first date? What did you do?!"

"It wasn't a fight with her."
"Okay, she was in the fight but she was on my side."

Laura sets the tablet aside, "Maybe you should start from the beginning?"

"It was going pretty well! We got to the restaurant, we started eating..."
"...and then a crazy marching band nerd-slash-thief burst in and..."
"...she might be my nemesis."

"A nemesis? You've got a nemesis?"

"I guess?"
She throws her hands up in frustration.

"I mean... yes?"

"And Nailah might be more into nailing the baddie than actual girlfriend stuff."

"She did seem kind of committed to the hero thing. Are you sure you're good with that?"

"I'm probably going to the wrong school to not be good with it, aren't I?"

"True, but it'd also be totally up to you and understandable if you *weren't*."

"I mean it's... kind of attractive at times."
"And other times it's an impenetrable barrier to all flirting."

"Maybe you should incorporate it into the flirting? I mean, I'm not much for the hero stuff myself, so I can't even begin to say how that would work."

"This was part of that," she gestures to her outfit.
"Worked... well enough. Better than expected at spots."

"Hey, there's nothing wrong with it, if that's what someone's into. I'm certainly not going to judge," she smirks.

"Anyway, how was your evening? You didn't have a climactic battle with your nemesis or anything, did you?"

"There was a guy whose eyes got big as saucers when I came down the hall in this getup, then ran into a room like his trousers were on fire."
"But that might not be the most scientific of sampling."
