The sound through Tereza and Colette's open door was probably not terribly unusual, all things considered.

thunk
soft slurp
thunk
soft slurp

Inside, Tereza was reclined on her bed, a slender dagger of ice in one hand. She tossed it upwards, sinking it into a ceiling tile. Then, she twisted her hand and the dagger reformed and fell, landing in her hand where she twirled it idly before repeating the process.

Colette was, unfortunately, not used to the sound. Her previous roommate had been rather quiet, as had she, which made for a good dynamic. Also there were fewer weapons being thrown around. Every thud against the ceiling tile cause the goo girl to jump ever so slightly as she tried to worked on her finals essay on her tablet, occasionally letting out a sigh and tapping the backspace key several times to fix the mistake she'd made when she mashed a few keys at once from being startled. It wasn't even about her own safety, even an ice knife wouldn't have harmed her much, but the safety of her few possessions.

"Um, Madame Rozanov? Do you zink zat perhaps ze danger room, or perhaps ze grounds, might offer... a wider variety of targets?"

"They might," she says, gesturing with the dagger, "but they've blocked the Danger Room off for anything not relating to classes."

"Is power training not related to classes?" Colette didn't do much combat training, so she didn't use the room very much.

"You're suggesting I should go give them a free show of what I can do?" The dagger deformed and snaked through her fingers.

Colette's face bore a confused expression. "I am not certain zat I am... as I do not know what zis free show encompasses. Or if it will be housed in ze appropriate venue."

Tereza shakes her head, "You're suggesting I go do this where the administration can watch me do it. *That's* what I'm saying."

"Well, perhaps not blatantly...." Colette didn't want to be blamed for this woman chucking ice daggers around in the waiting room.

"See, better to do it in here where nothing's being hurt but one of the ceiling tiles."

Colette took a moment, struggling to think of how to express herself properly in her second language. Well, third really.

"I apologize. But I find it difficult to concentrate wiz zat happening."

"Then you can just ask," she says, gesturing with the reformed ice blade.

Colette may have flinched a bit. Or that jiggling was normal. "I am sorry. I did not wish to... portray myself as rude? Is zat se right word?"

"Fair enough, but it's a bit weirder in my book to beat around the bush like that."

"Yes. And everyone's unique, just like everyone else," she says, rolling her eyes.
