Having finally built up the courage to face his grandfather's victim, Tosh caught up to Leo as the other boy entered the dorm building.

"Hey. Can we talk?"

Leo looked at Tosh and sighed grouchily, "Just tell me what you want."

Tosh looked up into Leo's eyes with guilt in his own.

"I wanted to say that I'm sorry for what my grandfather did to you... and for my part in it. I know there was nothing I could have done to prevent it, but I still feel at least a little responsible. So if there's anything I can do for you, just let me know."

Leo waited with diminishing patience for Tosh to finish.

"You done? Good," he replied gruffly, "Look, I get it. You feel bad. But I don't want shit from you, because you... you might think you care, but you don't. You're only trying to make yourself feel better 'bout bein' used."

"No... I..." Tosh answered, reeling back as if slapped, "I really do just want to help. Someone has to try and set this right."

Leo growled, "And you'll do what exactly? You'll turn me back?! No, because you can't! Most likely no one can! So the best you can do is just leave me the fuck out of your screwed up family drama!"

He shoved his way past, knocking Tosh against the wall.

Outside the door, right in Leo's way is the comparatively tiny, pale Ghost and behind them a towering shadow with 6 eyes in three rows, glowing simply by being holes in the utter blackness it's made of.

"Is there a problem?"

Not long ago he'd have been frightened of a big shadow monster. Now, after the terror of his ordeal, he was only wary. Though he was too proud to let it show.

"Not if you get out of my way," he said with a threatening glare.

"Why does everyone on this floor think they can punch their way out of trouble?" Ghost huffs.

"You two getting along? Just shoving each other into the walls for fun?"

Tosh rubbed his shoulder as he walked up. "It's fine. Just a little disagreement."

"I can take care of myself Narumi," Leo said hotly.

"Somebody's in a mood."

"I just want to be left alone. Instead, I get cornered by Guilt Shark and the Phantom Narc."

"I'm just checking in to make sure things are going alright. That was a pretty loud thump earlier."

"It's not like I meant to push him that hard."

"Oh well then that's totally fine." Ghost says, not budging from where they're standing.

"He didn't hurt me. Please don't make a big deal out of it," Tosh said.

"Stop. Trying. To. Help," Leo growled.

"But that's my job as Prefect." Ghost points out innocently.

"Not you. Him. He won't mind his own damn business."

"How awful of him." Ghost deadpans.

Tosh held his palms up. "Okay, okay, I get the message. I'll back off."

Leo gave Tosh an appreciative nod before turning back to Ghost.

"We done here?"

Ghost gives Leo a dubious look, but the shadow creature behind them slinks off.

"Seems like it. You be good. I have my eyes on you."
