The morning after having sneaked back from the cave just in time to avoid the curfew police, Tosh knocked on Sam's door.

Sam looks a little weary as she gets the door, but she's fully dressed which is a plus.

"Oh hey, Tosh. What's up?"

"Do you think I could borrow your notes from friday's World History lecture? I kinda... misplaced mine."

"Can you hear this? I don't want the Lippincott's pets to overhear what we really need to talk about."

"You could take some pics of them on your phone," she shrugs, stepping aside to let him in.

"You think they've got the dorms bugged, or something?"

"Thanks," he answered, coming in.

"Probably not. But I really don't want him to know about what I did last night. I... reactivated the crystal computer control AI."

"They're right over here," she says as she gets out her notebook, opening it to her most recent notes.

"That... doesn't sound like something that's going to be very easy to keep under wraps."

"I think we'll be okay if we can keep it under wraps until we can get a hold of what it calls an authorization token. Then I think we can make it so Lippincott can't get control. And more, but that brings us to why I'm here. I need your help setting up a secure meet to make arrangements with the system. Just those like us who don't trust Lippincott and can keep a secret. I figured arranging it via teep would be more secure than anything I could pull off in the time we have."

He took out his phone and started snapping pics.

"And what does an authorization token do?"

"You've got the reading assignment, right?"

"I didn't get a lot of details, but it verifies the holder with an interdimensional network. Currently it's in the possession of an unknown holder that The Caretaker, the local system intelligence, can identify once he fully reintegrates with the system. And, um... possible interdimensional travel."

"I... think so. Better remind me to be sure."

"Okay, back up there. What are you intending to do with that?"

"You're going to need to read chapters six and seven to catch up."

"Nothing. The possibility just came up and I couldn't help but ask about it."

"And get a raging science boner."

He tried really hard not to blush as he said, "Oh yeah. That. Thanks."

"I mean, don't we have enough people from other universes running around?"

"Okay, so you're suggesting we all meet with this system you've installed, right?"

"Anything else you need?"

"Right. In about... 5 days. Somewhere on campus where we aren't likely to draw unwanted attention. We have big decisions to make about how he'll function. Security and stuff. Like setting up a new computer... if said computer had a security package that could do very bad things if handled improperly. That's why the crystals got destroyed."

"Well, I want to pick your brain some more about what you saw on mission but that can wait."

"Sounds good to me."

"Perhaps we all meet in the woods?"

"Probably the easiest place for Nat to see if there's anything watching us."

"Alright, see you then."

"She might be upset I activated The Caretaker. I was Ennio and got impatient with playing things safe. So I think I'll risk telling her myself."

"Looking forward to it."

"I don't even know what all of that is, so I'll take your word for it."

Sam loads up her backpack and goes to head out.
