Ainsley patted the spot next to him, indicating Leo should make himself comfy.

Leo happily slid closer to his boyfriend, pausing to see if there was any objection to putting an arm around him.

There didn't seem to be as Ainsley snuggled into Leo's side.

Without all the extra monster muscles, Leo was at least a more comfortable pillow. Later during their movie viewing, he yawned and settled in even closer. Within minutes, he was asleep and softly snoring.

He eventually began muttering in his sleep.

"No. Not again. I don't wanna be a monster."

Ainsley furrowed his brow, but did not wake Leo from his night terror. In his experience, this was generally a bad move.

Instead, he laid his arm across the back of the couch so that he wasn't touching him any longer, and allowed Leo to rest against him, keeping an eye on him.

"No!" he cried out as he jerked awake. He immediately went about checking his hands and face, sighing in relief when everything was normal. For a moment so brief it was difficult to say he saw anything, Ainsley caught a vague impression that Leo's eyes were, for a second, the wrong color.

Ainsley stayed quite still in his spot, not wanting to become collateral in Leo's outburst.

The eye colour change did catch him, but he gave Leo a moment to calm down.

He picked up his pad and asked- "Do you feel OK?"

"Yeah... just a bad dream," he answered, a little shaken but otherwise calm.

"Your eyes looked a bit strange for a second."

"Dude. Just 'cause I'm havin' nightmares about turnin' back into Manticore doesn't mean you need to start imaginin' things," he said, burying his fear deep.

Ainsley furrowed his brow, sighed, and stood up to collect his things.

Ainsley texted Leo as he left.

"YOU figure it out."

Leo watched him go with the feeling that Ainsley was majorly overreacting. Besides, the other boy couldn't have seen what he claimed. It wasn't possible.
