[Plot] Room 105: How Very Mewsterious

[Diego Zapata]

After getting let into the dorm proper by the larger, more intimidating cat-person on campus, Diego trod over to Chisaki's door a knocked a jaunty tune.

"Chisaaa... you there? I've got this great cosplay idea!"

Funny that both of the cat-boy's relationships with her revolved around clothes in one way or another.

[Chisaki Watanabe]

Though her name was on the door, Diego wouldn't get a response. Upon further inspection, the door wouldn't be locked.

And none of Chisaki's stuff was inside either.

"What the hell?" he asked the air. Immediately he tried texting her.

uhh...  u get robbed or something?

[Chisaki Watanabe]

Diego's text was read, but not responded to.

[Diego Zapata]

He stepped back out and said, "Not only is she not here, neither is her stuff."

"What?" Leo asked, "Do you think she dropped out or somethin'?"

"Dude. I dunno. I'm gonna try calling her," Diego answered before dialing her number on his phone.

[Chisaki Watanabe]

Diego got her voicemail.

"Hello! This is Chisaki Watanabe! I am sorry I missed your call, but please leave me a message after the beep!"

[Diego Zapata]

"Hey Chisa. I came by to talk and your stuff is, like, not here and your bigger cat dormmate doesn't know anything. Is everything okay? Please call me back. I'm a little worried."

He hung up, paced back and forth once before he called the admin building to check if they knew anything.

[Narrator]

According to administration, there was a last minute cancellation and she would not be returning this year for studies. It was so late minute unfortunately, that maintenance had already put her name on the dorm. They apologized for any inconvenience that the mix up might cause.

[Diego Zapata]

Diego hung up and sighed.

"Welp, my closest friend on campus just left the school without telling me anything. Like, I know she holds her cards close and all but I didn't think she'd do something that cold... No, I've gotta give her the benefit of the doubt."

"Yeah, I'm not one to jump to the best conclusions about people but even I don't write people off that fast," Leo said, "Don't freak out yet. And tell me if she answers, she was my only connection for clothes and I didn't not like her despite my boyfriend's opinion."

Diego nodded, "Sure thing. And I'll try not to jump straight to missing persons mode either. See ya 'round." He then stepped out into the hall.

I think I'd rather you just ghosted me than be in some kind of trouble.

[Chisaki Watanabe]

After having been left to stew on the issue for several minutes (which probably seemed like an eternity to Diego) Chisaki replied, via text.

"I messed up, but I am okay. Please do not worry."

[Diego Zapata]

Diego perked up and read the text, immediately feeling less tense and responding.

Hard to do when your friend up and vanishes, but I'll try. :)

So did something happen back home? Is that it?

Yes, but no.

I cannot talk about it further, or I would be in more trouble.

Just know that it won't be the same around here without you.
