[Relationship] A Short Walk of Shame

[Will Stanton]

The ettiquite of taking one back to one's place is slightly awkward when one's place is also the other's place. But, at any rate, that's where Miriam and Sam had ended up.

And Will, for that matter. A six-inch Will Stanton crawled out from the bottom of the sheets, falling down to the floor; his hair matted and plastered to his head as he made his way towards the exit of Miriam's room.

There's a groan from the bed. Miriam is used to waking up with a little bit of a fog in her head but it's usually not punctuated by this many other nearby minds. One of which has the distinct flavour of sneaking out.

"What in the..." she mumbles and then registers the Sam-sized shape under the covers next to her and bits and pieces of the previous night come flooding back. Dancing and blood and... she still has hints of salty iron in her mouth.

"...can you bloody keep it down," comes a murmur from under the blanket.

[Will Stanton]

Will tried to continue on tippy-toe as he made his way for the exit.

[Miriam Bell]

"Where do you think you're going?" Miriam's voice echoes through everyone's minds. She's too groggy to narrow it down to Will in particular.

[Will Stanton]

"The mirror," Will stage whispered. "Of course. Where else? I'm worn out."

[Miriam Bell]

"Right... from being a dress and... that was all?" she groans, sitting up with the help of one arm propping her up.

[Will Stanton]

"....Yeeeeah, you're going to want to wake up a little more, I think," Will said, mildly.

[Samantha McManus]

"I'm too bloody hung over for this," a very naked Sam says as she sits up groggily.

[Miriam Bell]

"Well that answers a question and raises many more..."

[Will Stanton]

"Such is life, especially after getting drunk on an entire nightclub's worth of partiers."

[Samantha McManus]

"No questions before breakfast," she grumbles.

[Will Stanton]

"And water. Drink lots of water, too. You guys partied pretty hard," Will agreed.

[Miriam Bell]

"Water's not going to cut it, this morning. Not waking up to this..." Miriam says, whatever the hell that is supposed to mean.

[Will Stanton]

"Water, young lady. I don't care if you have been dead for months at this point in time; you're going to take care of yourself," the six-inch tall Will said, putting his sub-inch foot down.

Before too much awkwardness or any clear questions had a chance to take hold in Miriam's mind, the situation was disrupted by Sam being called away to some mission non-sense and Miriam was only too happy to roll over in bed. But both her headache and the nagging question of what transpired last night make her toss and turn until she finally throws her covers off and a bathrobe on. Grumbling something about doting shapeshifters she fetches a glass of water and stops in the common room, turning around to look at the mirror.

"Bet you're laughing it up in there, aren't you."

The reflection of Miriam shimmered for a bit, before she put one hand on her hips with a smirk.

"Do you want me to be? Because I'm sure I can find a thing or two to laugh about if you want.

I mean, it's a bit of a stretch. If anything, I should probably be thanking you. It's not every day I get to be intimately connected to one of the loves of my life. But I'm sure I can find a thing or three to critique, if needs be."

[Miriam Bell]

"You're welcome." she says, though there's a tinge of confusion in her voice. "At least somebody remembers what happened. I remember dancing and blood and... was I drunk on Samantha? That sounds so... cheesy." she says, actually looking a little green around the gills on top of her normal pale complexion. Though most of that is probably hang-over related.

[Will Stanton]

This time, Miriam's reflection did laugh at her.

"She has a Presence. And a Power. And about a pint and a half of the good stuff, at your insistence. Honestly, I think you deserve credit for letting yourself being shepherded away from the club and back home. Could have well ended up in the city lockup at the rate you were going."

[Miriam Bell]

"I'm not sure that would have been more or less embarrassing." she groans. "Did I... tie her up on the dance floor." she squints at nothing, holding her forehead.

[Will Stanton]

Will!Miriam waved her hand from side to side. "A little bit. A titch. You were playing some power games."

[Miriam Bell]

"We're not going to get a citation for indecent exposure in the mail, are we?"

[Will Stanton]

"Don't worry. Your clothes kept their heads about them, even when you didn't," Will!Miriam smirked. "I assume peeling them off was out of impatience and not a lack of gratitude."

[Miriam Bell]

"I do remember a certain... urgency. Please tell me I did not come across as desperate as I fear I might have..."

[Will Stanton]

Will!Miriam tapped her lips as she thought. "Desperate is in the eye of the beholder. Needy, for sure. Impatient. Thirsty as all get out. But desperate? Mmm, I've seen desperation, and I'm not sure you quite qualified."

[Miriam Bell]

"Oh great, just needy. That's fine then." she groans. "I can only hope Sam remembers even less than me about this whole sordid affair." she says with a dramatic gesture that brings about a pang of hang-over headache from the sudden swift motion, making her wince.

[Will Stanton]

"Well, I had a lovely time in this whole sordid affair. It's been a long time."

[Miriam Bell]

"It's not that I mind letting loose and indulging. I'm all for it! But needy's such a... bad look. Especially when you're...'playing power games'." she says after clearing her throat. "Isn't that just a little pathetic?"

[Will Stanton]

"I'm fairly sure I'm not one to talk about being pathetic here," Will!Miriam laughed. "Not when I tried to silently slip out of bed before the two of you could wake up and regret anything."

[Miriam Bell]

"Is that what that was about? I thought you just wanted to escape the inevitable awkwardness. Embarrassing or not, I'm done having regrets."

[Will Stanton]

"Well, that and getting cleaned up a bit. A night of mountain climbing and spelunking does not leave one fresh as a daisy come the morning.

But awkwardness is something I've gotten quite used to, I'm afraid."

[Miriam Bell]

Miriam raises her eyebrow at Will's choice of metaphor. If it even is.

"What exactly did we get up to last night?"

[Will Stanton]

"The two of you enjoyed your evening," Miriam!Will smirked. "And I pitched in where I could."

[Miriam Bell]

"Delightfully vague." she mutters, though the sarcasm isn't as thick as it could be. She's not exactly keen on actually discussing any details in the harsh light of day. Especially when some of the fogginess in her head lifts for a moment to reveal disjointed memories of skin that feels burning hot against her own cold body and some more... creative uses for 'clothes' that respond to her whims and desires.

"Oh god, did I... with the... bloody hell..." she laments, a vague flush of color showing on her otherwise pale face.

[Will Stanton]

"I mean, I can be more clinical if you'd prefer, but yes. And I've done it before, and I'd do it again. Oddly like coming home.

...If you excuse the pun."

[Miriam Bell]

Miriam groans. "Pun not excused. I need a lot more coffee and horrifically greasy breakfast in me before I can handle your jokes." she teases. Probably. Will has a decent read on the nuances in her deadpan tones by now.

[Will Stanton]

"Had there not been an alert, I would have whipped you two lovebirds up something. But duty calls over booty calls, one supposes," Miriam!Will smirked.

[Miriam Bell]

"I've literally died and this is worse somehow."

[Will Stanton]

"Well, suck it up, or go store-bought for toys next time. If there is a next time," Miriam!Will laughed.

"And you needed this, I think. I'm just glad you found someone you want to drink in."

[Miriam Bell]

"I... did. I really did. And I can only assume it will backfire on me somehow. Probably in the form of a territorial werewolf."
