"Then I guess that's where we leave it. If you can't share me, that's further than I'm willing to go."

"I don't... I just mean I don't care for being part of your little wolf pack."

[Will Stanton]

"I told you we'd need string and a pushboard," Will mumbled.

[Samantha McManus]

"Well I don't expect you to run with the pack, aye? You seem a bit allergic to the outdoors as it is," she smirks.

[Miriam Bell]

"Yes and the sun also does not agree with me."

[Samantha McManus]

"So, nothing that involves picking twigs out of your hair, aye?"

[Miriam Bell]

"My room is open, but if you come in like you just ran through the woods I will have to clean you up first."

[Samantha McManus]

"Is that a threat or a promise?"

[Will Stanton]

"Dibs on cleanup duties. Double dibs," Will said, raising her hand.

Her hand hesitated in the air. "That is to say...I mean, if you're both..."

She paused.

"I enjoyed last night. In bed, that is. I mean, so long as we're talking about voiding warranties and other euphemisms...

I don't want to fifth-wheel anything, and everyone's relationship with everyone else in this dorm room is different, but, I mean..." she rambled. "I felt right at home when I was, you know. Being used to map the uncharted terrain."

[Miriam Bell]

"Only if you will stop second guessing yourself or I will have to find a more fun way to shut you up."

[Will Stanton]

"I'm fairly sure a ...what did Tereza call it? a 'DTR'? ... is very specifically the point at which to second-guess oneself!

And the crazy acronyms you folk use around here."

[Samantha McManus]

“Define the relationship, you fossil.” She chuckles.

[Will Stanton]

"Back in my day, we just called it conversation. You young whippersnappers with your cell phones and your texting and your hi-fi players."

Will placed her hands in both Miriam and Sam's again. "I'm Miriam's friend. And I'm Sam's friend. And I enjoy that. And if that friendship involves occasionally getting fucked senseless and nights and early mornings in the Vampire's Tomb or Da Chich na Morrigna, then I believe I will be happy.

And I am Tereza and Vivian's friend, though there's more of a...distance there. We don't always seem to quite be on the same page. Maybe it's the wolf and the hare thing. But I am happy being their friend and continuing to work through those issues.

And I am the Morrigan's...well, I don't know what I am of the Morrigan's, here, because I think the Morrigan is still trying to find herself here, too. And that's OK as well."

Will gave Miriam a look that didn't need telepathy to resolve as 'see? communication!'

[Miriam Bell]

"Yes yes, you sent out the talkative one to help us sort this out. Very clever." she says, but adds a telepathic "Thank you." that Sam can probably pick up on as well.

[Samantha McManus]

"So we're good? Everyone understands that none of my girlfriends is going to eat anyone unless they ask very nicely?"

[Miriam Bell]

"Pretty sure this one feels it takes the romance out of it if she has to ask." Miriam says and puts a hand on top of Will's head.

[Will Stanton]

"Well, no. I mean, yes, to that in particular, but..." Will paused.

"I mean, I do not know what you want, Sam. I know what Miriam wants, even if getting it out of her is like pulling teeth because she has to go through an 'I am gothic and depressed and nobody could possibly care about' song and dance, but I've got experience with that.

I don't know what you want, Sam. You've got a pair of girlfriends who are devoted to you," Will paused. "...mostly devoted to you, at least," she added, with a frown, "and you've rejected additions to that before. And when I first, um, stepped out on my long-term relationship, it was A Thing, that involved fighting and shouting and a breakup and an axe." She paused again. "My Onyx was very protective."

"ANYWAY. I asked you what you wanted, and all you said is you didn't want to push Miriam into anything. Maybe that means that's all you want, and you're fine with being hit up for anything as long as Miriam is happy, but...I mean, I'm not a telepath. I can't read minds."

[Samantha McManus]

"You're talking about someone who isn't me, aye? Well, you're blurring things together, but ultimately you're talking about another person's desires, not mine."

[Will Stanton]

"No, I'm talking about you, you. You've rejected additions to you, Tereza and Vivian before. Sorry, I didn't mean for that to be confusing."

[Samantha McManus]

"Well I mean, we do feel kind of like... a unit sometimes, aye? There's something very neat about a pack, even if it's otherwise quite a messy thing."

[Miriam Bell]

"Wow. Who knew you could avoid questions better than me. Maybe we should take a peek to find out what dear Sam really wants."

[Samantha McManus]

"I'm trying to put words to it, Miriam."

[Miriam Bell]

"Okay, touched a nerve there." she says, raising her hands a little. "You want to run through the woods leading your pack, metaphorically or literally. That much I can figure. And you certainly enjoyed not holding the leash for a night, so to speak. Am I reasonably close there?"

[Samantha McManus]

"I think that's veering more into what I enjoy, not what I want. Not quite the same thing."

"I was talking about the pack there because, you know, there's a temptation there to just think you've found that, and that fulfills a lot of needs."

"So maybe you stop looking, aye?"

[Miriam Bell]

"Complacent because you found something that works. I can... see that."

[Will Stanton]

"And part of college is finding out who you are, and pushing your boundaries," Will nodded.

[Samantha McManus]

"And I mean, I'm really close to them. I don't ever want to endanger what I have with them, so I try to be honest and open with them about things."

[Will Stanton]

"I don't think anyone here wants to take away what you have with them. They're very important to you, and for good reason..."

[Samantha McManus]

"I know that. In my head, I absolutely know that. Fears aren't always rational, aye?"

[Miriam Bell]

"Or unfounded." Miriam says before thinking better of it. "But that... doesn't mean it's not worth holding on to." she adds after a brief pause.

[Samantha McManus]

"Tereza's a lot more practical about this sort of stuff, but I guess she's been burned before."

[Miriam Bell]

"She controls ice. Not a huge surprise she's not exactly burning with passion."

[Samantha McManus]

"Oh, I could say something on that but it'd be kissing and telling," she smirks.

[Will Stanton]

"And someone without a beating heart probably doesn't get to point fingers about chilliness, aye?"

[Miriam Bell]

"It's called Dark Romanticism, thank you very much."

[Samantha McManus]

"It's called your feet are like ice in the morning."

[Miriam Bell]

"Precious little I can do about that."

[Samantha McManus]

"They're called socks, Miriam."

[Miriam Bell]

Miriam lets out an indignant huff. "Oh so now suddenly the lack of clothes is a problem." she tries to sidestep being glum with a joke. She really has been hanging out with Will.

"Well, Sam is used to hanging out with people who have natural fur coats," Will pointed out.
