Cleanup on Isle 12...

[Will Stanton]

The Will by Sam nodded.

"It's good you didn't let me...hurt anyone or anything. And it's...impressive that you were able to contain a near-infinite space like this. That's a real feat; I remember how tough getting me into the mirror was, and I was...less, then."

The Will who had been helping Miriam walked over to the remains of the mirror and snatched the paper that had been taped to the back of it. "I've gotta go make some calls," he muttered, heading for the door.

[Miriam Bell]

"They multiplied in the mirror... How many more are there now after letting them into all that space?" It's more of a rhetorical question, Miriam still seems pretty out of it.

[Will]

"How many tomorrows in forever? How many angels on the head of a pin?" one of the Wills said, rubbing the back of her head.

"It's not...it's a number. Or, well, the number is one. It's all just me," another chimed in. "It's just...I don't know where it ended. I'm not sure it did. It was connected to something..."

[Samantha McManus]

"So you didn't multiply, you've just... been shown a lot of new tricks. Repeatedly."

[Will Stanton]

"And I've been going out to learn more, and more, and more. Honestly, it's been quite the experience," Will nodded. "I'd recommend it, but it may not be for everyone."

[Miriam Bell]

"Not sure we could. Not that much that fast anyway."

[William Stanton]

"Yeah, well, don't sell yourselves too short. You managed to cram all those infinite possibilities down into this..." Will said, picking up the book carefully.

[Samantha McManus]

"Which we're hoping can do what the mirror did."

[Will Stanton]

Will raised an eyebrow at that, somewhat dubiously.

"I'm listening..." they said, diplomatically.

[Miriam Bell]

"If it holds all the various yous I was hoping removing pages would let you, you know, turn a page into a person."

"And maybe journaling would let you get back in? I won't lie, I was kind of winging it."

[Will Stanton]

"Well, it's a very well-crafted book," Will acknowledged. "And for something that was being done by the seat of your pants, it's very impressive. Sometimes, you get these outside forces attempting to push things, and it's like a child drawing in crayon. I'm sure he's very appreciative of that attention to detail."

Will turned the book over in her hands a couple times. "Hefty thing, too. Definitely more, uh, substantial than the mirror, at least in this sense; in this place."

[Samantha McManus]

"Sometimes things just... rhyme in a way. They want to be how they want to be."

[Will Stanton]

"That explains the silver clasp locking everything in place," Will joked, before tucking the book under her arm.

"I'm going to go...check this out," she said, after a slight hesitation. "Are you two going to be alright?"

[Miriam Bell]

"I will be. Let me know if everything is okay with the rest of you?" she adds with a glance at the book.

[Will Stanton]

"I...don't know. I...he's only been like this for a few minutes. And we're going to have to have a conversation about what this means, going forward, because...well, it's different. For obvious reasons," Will said, biting her lower lip.

[Samantha McManus]

"Do what you need to. I'm just not sure what we can do if this isn't working."

[Will Stanton]

"Yeah, I figured as much," Will said, plastering a smile on. "That's alright, though. You've done the best you can, and that's all I...we can ask," she said.

[Miriam Bell]

Miriam manages a skewed smile. "Sorry."

[Will Stanton]

Awkward and abashed, Will just sort of stood there for a moment, before awkwardly headed for the exit...followed by the rest of the Wills. A stampede of Stantons.

[Samantha McManus]

"I'm sure it's just an adjustment for them," Sam tries to reassure Miriam.

[Miriam Bell]

"Right... Well, let's hope they do. Adjust that is. And that we didn't just trap most of them."

[Samantha McManus]

"Trap them in, or lock them out? Because it's looking like there's more of them out and about than we thought."

[Miriam Bell]

"Both? And how did you not notice how many of them are about? Even if you're being a polite little telepath, there's at least the one running Kneadful Creations down in Mutant Town and there's probably a couple more for the equipment. The headmistress has one of them in an uptight secretary-bun who's pretending to be a robot, there's my bed, mattress, covers. At least one dress though I suspect some more might have snuck in. There was the blanket on the couch and the quote-unquote regular ones walking about and at least one of them standing guard in here, disguised." she counts off on her fingers though she soon runs out.

"So if Will's accumulating memories and conscious, lived experience at a rate that no singular being can even attempt..."

[Miriam Bell]

"Yes, just opening up the mirror was a mistake. I should have realized."

[Samantha McManus]

"Well if it's a mistake, it's one you shouldn't take the sole blame for, Miriam. This isn't anything we could've expected, and what we did made sense at the time."

[Miriam Bell]

"I should have realized how much they had accumulated. It's what Will does, they soak up life and sensations like a sponge."

[Samantha McManus]

"Feels like you're already punishing yourself worse than anything they might tell us after they're sorted."

[Miriam Bell]

"Hi, I'm Miriam Bell. I have two modes, defeatist moping or unrepentant bitch."

[Samantha McManus]

"Suppose figuring out what we're going to do to the bloody Fury's a welcome distraction."

[Miriam Bell]

"As much as I'm in favor of making her regret whatever it was she thought she was doing, that mind is like shoving your face into razor-wire. And not all of us can be telepaths and heavyweight MMA contenders."

[Samantha McManus]

"No, some of us have labyrinths inside our minds someone could get lost in forever," she smirks back.

"Besides, the Morrigan of her world managed to punish her once. I don't think she quite knows what to make of me yet."

[Miriam Bell]

"Okay, maybe I could trap her. For a bit. Hypothetically. And what, you're gonna bank on being able to intimidate her with clout?"

[Samantha McManus]

"I don't really know yet. It just feels like we ought to do something, aye?"

[Miriam Bell]

"She did with one of us." she agrees. "But are we sure that universe of hers isn't full of more of her kind?"

[Samantha McManus]

"She said she's just working for humans, so I wouldn't think so."

[Miriam Bell]

"That. Is working for humans. Voluntarily?"

[Samantha McManus]

"I wouldn't say voluntarily. Some sort of oath or contract, it sounded like. Probably the same as their Will is under."

[Miriam Bell]

'Hmm. That's something at least. You think she scurried back to her world?"

[Samantha McManus]

"With the look in the hallway, she sure wasn't covering her tracks."
