Of course I'd be the one to make out with a girl without getting her phone number...

Sam walks down the hallway, checking the names on the doors.

Does Murphy e-mail? Let's assume no. And of course they keep shuffling folks around...

Finally settling on what she hopes is the right door, Sam knocks.

There's a brief scuffling sound, followed by silence.

Then the door creaks open slowly, until Murphy sees it's Sam. She flings the door open and practically tackles the redhead in a big hug.

Sam may be psychic, but Murphy still manages to catch her by surprise, nearly sweeping her off her feet.

"Oof!" She grunts, steadying herself, then finally looking up to meet the tall girl's eyes.

"And here I thought you'd be cross with me for waiting this long to hunt you down," she chuckles.

"Very cross," Murphy teases, nuzzling Sam briefly before letting her go.

"Hi," she says, smiling.

"I guess I didn't have anything to worry about."

"I had to get my head together a bit. How've you been?"

"Hiding," Murphy says, gesturing to her room. "People."

She looks a bit self-conscious, "Not used to it. Noisy."

"Better if I come in?"

"Sure," Murphy says. She opens the door to let Sam in.

Murphy's side of the room is bare. Her closet is open, revealing a blanket and lantern on the floor. There are a couple of stacks of books in front of the closet door, with one stack knocked over in Murphy's rush towards the door.

"Sorry for the mess," Murphy mumbles.

"Mess I can do, don't worry," she says, looking around a bit.

"Look, I just wanted to... you know, talk after last time."

"Or I guess... 'talk' if that's better for you," she says, tapping her forehead.

Murphy smiles, "Sure."

Murphy sits cross-legged on the floor. As always, she was practically an open book to Sam and her emotions were pretty simple to read. She was happy to see Sam. Very happy, in fact.

Sam sits down across from her, still a bit nervous.

"So I ah... found some things out about myself that night."

"And that's... not your fault, really. It just kind of... took me by surprise, aye? Especially after I got a chance to, you know, calm down after."

"Things?" Murphy asks, a bit curious about what Sam was talking about.

"Well ah... you probably noticed that things kind of... escalated quickly?"

Murphy smiles, enjoying that particular memory, "Yes."

Murphy was starting to focus on Sam intently. All of her sense were razor sharp and her body tensed up. Being around Sam stirred up all of her most powerful instincts for some reason and unlike the redhead, Murphy didn't have any sort of training or even feel the need to restrain these sorts of feelings.

"Problem?" Murphy asks, stretching out a bit and flexing her claws.

Murphy smiles up at Sam. She thought Sam made an excellent hunter. She remembered watching Sam from the trees. It was like the girl belonged in the woods. Hunting.

Murphy thought Sam was absolutely beautiful.

"Was fun," Murphy agrees, leaning back on the palms of her hands.

She takes in a breath.

"I really want to be your girlfriend, Murphy."

Murphy looks at Sam for a moment, considering those words. It wasn't that she wasn't agreeable to the idea, but it seemed to mean something more to Sam and for a moment she struggled with trying to figure out what was expected of her.

Finally, she got up and walked over to Sam. She reached out and brushed some hair out of Sam's face.

Worrying about things was stupid. This was simple.

"Okay," Murphy says.

Sam blinks a little in disbelief, having run through the scenario a few times in her head, but finally smiles.

"Just like that, aye?"

Murphy leans her head against Sam, "You're fun."

She also enjoyed kissing Sam. For Murphy, that was the two qualities needed for a significant other.

"Too easy?"

"Doesn't have to be hard," she says with a broad smile, reaching up to ruffle Murphy's hair.

"I guess I overthought it."
