Room 108: Welcome to the Jungle

Alex glanced down at the sheet of paper then up at the numbered rooms. "Room 108...108...Ah, there it is." Trying the door he was surprised to find it open. "Hello?" He was a day late, so he wouldn't be shocked if his roomie had already settled in.

Shane looked over from his spot lounging on his made bed. He lifted his headphones off of one ear, rock music leaking out.

"You the roomie?"

"Yeah, you're Shane Marsh right?" He walked over to the second, unoccupied bed and dropped his bags.

He turned off his music and sat up, removing the headphones.

"Alex something, right?"

"Maurell." He dropped down on to the bed beside his bag before flopping backwards with a groan, murmuring in Spanish, "...Joder la TSA..."

"Fuck the TSA! Kept me in the airport way longer then they should have, jerks." He sighed, running a hand over his face. The flight from the US to Europe was long enough without getting hassled on the way to the plane.

He gave a small laugh and sat up, "Uh, it'd be better if I just show you." He pulled over his bag and began shuffling about until he pulled out a granola bar. "Ah hah! Alright, you ready for this?" He unwrapped the food, holding it in the palm of his hand before breaking it down and reforming it into a rather large centipede.

Clearly not a centipede fan.

He couldn't help but laugh at Shane's reaction. "Aww, come on, he's not gonna hurt you. Look, I've got him completely under control." Setting the insect on the floor and just...having it move in a circle, chasing it's tail. "See, no harm done."

"Heh, nah, I can make more than that. It just depends on how much material I have and if I know how to make it." The centipede moved out of it's circle and back up Alex's bed while he reached into his backpack again to fish out a notebook. He showed the inside to Shane, which was covered in a swath of technical drawings and notes about animal anatomy. "The more I research the more I can make."
