Room 108: Welcome to the Jungle

[Alex Maurell]

"Oh? What are you into?"

[Shane Marsh]

"Classic Hard Rock, Blues Rock, sometimes non-scream-based Metal."

[Alex Maurell]

"Cool, just as long as you don't play it too loud we should be okay. What's your policy on animals?"

[Shane Marsh]

"As long as your constructs are housebroken they're fine with me."

[Alex Maurell]

"No worries. They don't need to do that kind of stuff."he chuckled.

[Shane Marsh]

"Pets that obey every command and don't shite? Man, you have one wicked power," he laughed.

[Alex Maurell]

"Heh, yeah I guess. There are some drawbacks though, like with everything."

[Shane Marsh]

"More than the book requirement?"

[Alex Maurell]

"Yeah, I kind of...share head space I guess with some of my older constructs. Again, if that makes any sense."

[Shane Marsh]

"Sorta like voices in your head but without the crazy?"

[Alex Maurell]

"Yeah, kinda. Though I've been told it looks pretty crazy from the outside."he chuckled.

[Shane Marsh]

"I'll bet," he chuckled.

[Alex Maurell]

"Heh, yeah, so if you see or hear me muttering to myself or if I don't notice you right away, don't freak out." It was only fair to let his new roommate be aware of his condition. After all there's no telling what may happen in the future, so it was best to let Shane be prepared.

[Shane Marsh]

Damn.

"And... ummm..." he began awkwardly. "If I ever freak out and clutch my chest, don't panic. In my top drawer, there are some things that look like homemade snack bars. Give me one. They taste like arse but they help."

[Alex Maurell]

"Got it. Awkward notes on our quarks accounted for, how 'bout a switch in topic? What are you planning on studying, degree-wise?"

[Shane Marsh]

He looked relieved at the subject change.

"Not a bleedin' clue."

[Alex Maurell]

"Really? So no ideas where to start?" The centipede on his shoulder migrated up into his hair as he put away his things and stuffed the empty duffel bag under his bed.

[Shane Marsh]

"Music maybe," he shrugged. "I can practically hear the parental disapproval already."

[Alex Maurell]

"Heh, yeah. Looking to start your own band?"

[Shane Marsh]

"One day, yeah," he nodded.

[Alex Maurell]

"Cool, personally never held an instrument and I've been told my voice sounds like a mule."he chuckled.

[Shane Marsh]

"So no to the backup singer job?" he smirked.

[Alex Maurell]

"Nope, not unless you really need a donkey for some inexplicable reason."

[Shane Marsh]

"What if we just call it Union Jackass?"

[Alex Maurell]

He snorted, barely containing a loud bark of a laugh. "Heh, yeah, and every song with include awful dying animal songs."

[Shane Marsh]

"And for our next number, Camel Holocaust!"

[Alex Maurell]

Alex did his best yet still horrible camel sounds before breaking down laughter.

[Shane Marsh]

Shane collapsed back onto his bed in a fit of laughter.

[Alex Maurell]

"Name another one, name another one!"he chuckled.

[Shane Marsh]

"Petting Zoo of the Damned?"

[Alex Maurell]

Horrible goat baa's followed.

[Shane Marsh]

His laughing eased. "You're alright for a Yank," he smiled.

[Alex Maurell]

"And you're alright for a Brit."he grinned.
