Wanda knocks quietly on Miriam's door, thumbing through something on her phone as she waits.

In a bout of spectacular timing, Miriam's phone buzzes with a message from Trinity:

Set for this weekend. Car can pick you up Friday. Still good?

Miriam, phone in hand is heading for the door when she suddenly freezes, half-written message on her screen. It'd be easy to just pretend she's not in her dorm, but somehow that feels like it'd be even worse. She stares down at her phone and finishes the text.

sounds great, looking forward to seeing you again

She hits send and opens the door.

Wanda smiles, "Hello. I was hoping you were in. Busy?"

Miriam's phone buzzes again.

Car will be by at noon with plane tickets. Flight to Edinburgh and another car will pick you up. We'll be waiting.

"Nothing that can't wait." she says with a smile, putting her phone to sleep and sliding it into her back pocket. "How have you been?"

"Doing well. Getting to know my new roommate and working on some weather stuff. You?"

"Classes, trying to keep myself sane. Been thinking about what I want to do and how much I really need University, to be honest."

"Never hurts to have a fall back position, right?"

Miriam blinks at Wanda for a moment before a faint mental touch reassures her this was merely coincidental.

"I suppose..." she says awkwardly. "Still feels like a waste of time sometimes."

"What would you do if you weren't here?' Wanda asks with a slightly worried tone.

"I'm not really sure, to be honest..." she admits.

"Well, in lieu of other future plans, would you like to go out to eat this weekend? My treat this time."

"This weekends bad, I... already have plans. Going out of town for a bit."

Wanda tries to hide her disappointment, but that's virtually impossible opposite a telepath. "Oh? Somewhere fun, I hope."

"Probably not... It's kinda personal and spontaneous, I'd rather go by myself." she says awkwardly. It doesn't take a telepath to notice she's clearly making up an excuse on the spot. "Maybe the weekend after?"

"I've got a presentation to prep for the Monday after that and I need to get a good grade on it. I guess we'll figure out some other time."

"Sorry..." she says with an apologetic smile. "We'll figure something out, okay?"

"Yeah, sure," Wanda says, putting on a smile of her own that doesn't reach her eyes.
