The Roof: Sunshine In A Bag

"It sounds silly. I appurrove," he said with what sounded like an actual purr.

[Basil Benson]

Basil went into a giggle fit, turning visible again and dabbing his eyes a bit with his hand.

"Alright fine, you win. I can't do that." He sighed contentedly.

Then he started inspecting the back of his hand.

"I am the pun king!" he announced.

"Iiis there a bug on your hand or something?"

[Basil Benson]

"Nah mate. Jus' lookin' to look b'fore it disappears again." He replied, the drink obviously getting to his speech.

[Diego Zapata]

"So... it jus' does its own thing... your power?"

[Basil Benson]

"Pretty much. Used t'be invisible all the time, didn't much care for it, but not certain this is really better."

[Diego Zapata]

"Really? If I started shiftin' back to normal temporarily I'd be stoked."

[Basil Benson]

"Bein' invisible all th'time is bollocks, but it's th'same. Consistent. Bein' constantly visible again would be bloody fantastic.

Bein' either or and you don't know when? Thas a liability in th'makin' mate. What if I need t'be invisible? 'Round these parts it's kinda helpful. What if when I was standin' in th'corner'a th'room in m'birthdays with Colette's sheers b'hind m'back, I just randomly became visible and th'aliens saw me starky? That's real bleedin' threatenin'."

[Diego Zapata]

"Yu'll get theres buddy," he assured, words finally slurring, "Rome wasn't grilled in a day."

He snorted. "...built..."

[Basil Benson]

At the word grilled Basil commented." Bloody hell, a kebab sounds amazing!" Completely distracted by what he was saying before.

[Diego Zapata]

"Duuude... yesss," he answered with a short, involuntary purr. "Meat on a stick!"

[Basil Benson]

"No no!" Basil replied, sounding a bit chastising. "Not a skewer. A kebab. With salad n sauce? Ohhhh and chips innnssiiidddee.

Lesgo!" Basil replied, trying to stand up right. It took some finagling, but he was clearly a pro at this boozin' thing.

"How do you skewer salad?" Diego asked as he got up a little wobbly, ignoring the correction.

[Basil Benson]

Basil was already on the phone getting an Uber driver for them, and that took all of his concentration, so he did not explain to Diego what he meant.
