"You cease to exist when no one's around? Impressive and disturbing."

"Yes, my condition is a study in metaphysics and existentialism." He replied. "Thus the French girlfriend. You can't be existential without the French. It's scientific law now."

"Or maybe you're Schrodinger's invisible man, both there and not there until observed... or however that goes."

"Oh God, I hope not.

That's not going to go well on my resume.

"Again, I hope not. That means Headmistress Minamida is watching me at work through the security feed and is actively ignoring levels of tomfoolery that would make the HSE cringe." He chuckles.

"Pfft! Boooring. I want a story," he said in a sing-song manner. He started on another bottle.

"I can tell you a different incriminating story that won't potentially get me fired, if you like."

Basil sorted through a story that might seem interesting to Diego that wouldn't come back to bite him in the ass later.

"Less incriminating, more embarrassing...

One of the reasons I don't do hero work is my constitution. If I get too worked up, I have a tendency to pass out.

Apparently that works both for good things, and bad.

The first time I attempted to make love to a woman, I fell unconscious."

He winced sympathetically. "Like... right on top of her?"

"Oh no, she was on top of me. Not like I weigh too much shove off anyways, but I was nice and already semi prone so I didn't bash my head open like I've done in the past. And we were still mostly clothed so she wasn't too traumatized.

Still, you can't use the 'this never happens' excuse when you can't make words." He laughed.

Basil cracked open another, and shot it back, then resumed the story.

"She admitted to losing her cool a bit at first, but thankfully she's a smart woman and we knew each other when we were younger. Once she pieced together what might have happened, she used her hand mirror to see if I was still fogging it.

Since I was, she decided to just make me comfortable and waited for me to awaken again, like the professional she was."

At Diego's recognition of what he'd stupidly said, Basil's peacoat tensed for a moment, his back arching up against the flat rooftop painfully apparent. Normally, this would be the moment where he'd have himself a panic attack and swear Diego to secrecy.

But as was his nature when he was drunk, the more 'fuck it all' tendencies of Basil came out.

"Ehhh, whoops, guess this story became more incriminating than I thought it would, heh.

Oh well."

"It wasn't even that." Basil replied, trying his best to explain it now in his drunkenness without giving too much away.

"It was more like she knew I found her attractive and she wanted something interesting to do on a slow night, so why not the invisible man?"

Here here." Basil replied breaking open bottle five.

After guzzling down, his started feeling that warm fuzzy, euphoric feeling he was waiting on."Whhhoooooooo there she is mate... that's the limit."

There were still plenty left for Diego though, if he so chose.
