Xaviers!

Wanda is settled in at a chair in the small dorm kitchen. The oven seems to currently be in use and by the smell of it, being put to use baking cookies of some kind. Wanda flips through some things on her phone, looking at some selfies from her night with Miriam and Alessia.

He saw it first in the hall; a small, not even half-seen creature, swimming through the air like some kind of ephemeral and translucent Asian dragon. It didn't seem to notice him as he followed it on its leisurely path towards the common room and the kitchen.

"Just a step closer..." he thought before lunging through the kitchen doorway and clapping his hands around it like trying to catch a bug.

"Gotcha!" he announced.

Wanda looks up with a start, "Got what?"

"A... a thing!" he answered, "Quick! Get a glass or something!"

Wanda gets up and gets a glass out of the cabinet, holding it out for Diego.

He deftly slapped the critter into the glass and peered at his catch with profound disappointment. The glass was empty.

"The heck? Where'd it go?"

"Maybe it was just a sun mote?"

"Those don't turn corners and look like... shit, I don't even know anymore. Wormy... I guess?"

"Yeah, doesn't sound like any sun mote I've ever seen. Strange."

"I wasn't even sure I saw it at first."

He frowned. "Maybe I didn't..."

"I'm not really want to talk. I see all sorts of strange things all the time."

"Well it's a first for me... alien tentacle monster aside... so maybe phantom squigglies aren't impossible."

"Around here, it's best to be careful with the word impossible unless you like being wrong."

"Yeah... a building unexploding drove that lesson home. Even if I was unconscious when that happened."

He looked thoughtful. "I hope that isn't why I maybe-saw a giant ghost... nematode? Yeaaah... that's what it looked like."

"Maybe? Maybe not? Might want to get checked out all the same."

"Yeah, I'm definitely getting my noggin looked at."

"Physically," he specified, "Unless the invisible worm starts singing 'Ragtime Gal.' Then I'll worry about my mental health."

"Yeah, if it's not a frog doing that, then you sort of have to worry."

"Exactly!" he laughed before putting the empty glass on the table. "Or a chest-burster in a diner."

She peers at the glass again, almost as if trying to discern if anything might be in it. Not finding anything disturbing the air there, she shrugs. "Hopefully you just need an eye check up. I'd hate to think there's more stuff floating around here."

"I dunno... I think I might prefer that to having eye worms," he replied with a shudder.
