DT1 - Ashlie's Apartment

Ashlie is standing in the bathroom of her apartment. It had been here when she decided to utilize this area as her living quarters, although the idea had always been kind of quaint to her. She didn't need to sleep so she didn't really require a bedroom either. Her living room is furnished but goes unused. She even has a television set that has never been turned on. It's just something that belongs in a living room, just like an apartment requires a bathroom. She takes the occasional shower, just to wash off the dirt that accumulates on her synthetic skin over time and because it's there so she might as well use it, but she's never managed to find it relaxing or enjoyable. She has pressure sensors here and there, but they exist so she can exert the right amount of force when she handles objects or moves around, she'd never considered them a source of much sensation. They're simply not designed that way.

Now, as she looking at herself in the mirror she begins to wonder if she's missing out on something. No, that's not right, she knows she's missing out, but for the first time she actually feels like it might be worth pursuing. She runs her hand down the side of her face and down to her collarbone. Blip. Hairline. Blip. Cheekbone. Blip. Chin. Blip. Throat. Like radar detecting the movement in predictable intervals. Clinical. She's changed parts of herself before without much thought. Eyes in particular require a lot of attention and maintenance but she's replaced a leg and part of her internal systems before. How odd that she doesn't think twice about changing out body-parts yet she still has the same haircut she did when this body was built. Will Stanton constantly changes things about himself, herself, itself. Maybe it is time for her to consider some changes as well.

She's already drafting up ideas for an improved subdermal sensor-net as she grabs a pair of scissors and raises them to her head.
