Chase knocked on Professor Rede's office door. He was nervous enough about his first followup since his release that Gideon would probably have felt him coming.

"Come in Chase," Gideon said when he heard the knocking.

He entered, trying not to be seen by any students who happened to wander by.

"You aren't the only student who comes to my office so there's no need to be embarrassed, kid," Gideon said gesturing towards a free chair.

Chase would see a fairly standard office with comfortable if a bit old fashioned furniture, framed degrees, awards, and the occasional personal photo. The major difference being that the personal photos were of various X-teams over the years, so no family photographs. The only other item of note was a very battle damaged helmet in a glass box sitting on a shelf.

"Sorry..." he said, a little embarrassed. His eyes locked curiously on the helmet as he sat.

"No need to apologize either," Gideon said then when he saw Chase was looking at the helmet he smiled. "From my younger more foolish days as an X-Man."

"Is it a battle trophy?"

"No, it was one of the first helmets that I designed and assembled with the help of some other students at the institute," Gideon said, "Though it did get damaged because I thought I could fight a robot in hand to hand combat."

"I'll try not to make the same mistake," he smirked.

"Also make sure to bring weapons with you," Gideon said, "However, I doubt you came here to hear stories from a retired X-Man, eh."

"Well it's not why I'm supposed to," he smirked.

"Well, maybe I'll tell you a story when we are done with our session," Gideon said with a slight smile.

"Deal," he smiled.

"So... where do we start?"

"First, how has integrating into the student body going?" Gideon said.

"It's hard, but easier than I expected."

"What has been hard about it, kid?" Gideon asked.

"I don't even know what to say half the time."

"That'll come with time, eh," Gideon said, "You'll learn about pop culture, books, drinking, and what have you. Have you felt anything odd while you're interacting with people? Heard any voices?"

"Only the occasional memory of one lesson or another."

"If that changes let me know right away," Gideon said, "Neither of us want any of your conditioning slipping back into place."

He paused to let that sink in for a moment.

"Where would you like to start today, Kid?"

"Remembering the rest of my name would be nice."

"Good of a place as any to start," Gideon said, "What's the place that reminds you the most of your parents, Chase?"

He thought hard for a few moments.

"The soccer field maybe?" he answered, still unsure.

"Alright," Gideon said, "I want you to picture the soccer field in your mind. Start with how you felt, how the soccer field smelled, what it sounded like around you."

He closed his eyes and thought. He felt like he had been on a soccer field before. That mowed grass smell brought vague memories of cheering to the forefront.

"Got it."

"Can you picture who was playing? Who you and your family were cheering for?" Gideon asked.

"I... think... I was..."

"What position did you play?" Gideon asked trying to nudge Chase towards the complete picture one puzzle piece at a time.

"I think... attacking midfielder."

"Think back now," Gideon Sadi, "What color were your jerseys?"

His brow furrowed.

"Green."

"Do you remember if there were names on the backs of the jerseys?" Gideon asked.

"Yeah. There were."

"Think about that jersey then," Gideon said and try to picture yours. The grass stains, the green color, the smell, and the name on the back.

An image formed in his mind, slowly trying to come into focus.

"It's... too fuzzy... I... can't..." he said, the mental struggle written on his face .

"Let's take a step back then, eh," Gideon said, "Did your team have a name?"

"South Island something... United maybe?"

"Do you remember what your logo looked like?" Gideon asked.

"I'm... not... wait... some kind of sea creature I think... the flat one with the tail."

Gideon typed everything he had thus far into his computer. Slowly but surely narrowing down Chase's past or at least he hoped these interviews would help him recover the kids past.

"Alright, kid," Gideon said, "Do you remember the names of anybody else on the team? Did you have any friends?"
