Walking The Web

Previously the lodgings of the late Lady Braddock, the Dower House fell into disuse for a number of years, particularly after Braddock Manor passed to Brian himself. Since the arrival of the University, it has been renovated into an administrative building as well as faculty and staff housing on the second floor.

Walking The Web

A note dropped innocuously in one of the many places online that Ashlie kept tabs on:
Code: Select all
Things went south in a hurry. Everything end up alright for your people?

The signature and encoding looked a lot like what she had encountered with the technopath, Bitshift. Hidden in the coding of the message was a better, more secure route of contacting him.

Ashlie doesn't waste any time responding. Being readily available 24/7 probably doesn't appear too strange to someone like Bitshift.

She's good at that. She's tried to contact me a few times. I've ignored her. Finding more interesting things to do at the moment.

There was a pause that only Ashlie would have been able to detect.

Shit, I had some nice gear there. I mean there was no way for me to get it back, but you just don't torch good equipment.

No one still around to think that. Rumor is you handed Ursus over to SHIELD and you have Blaze and Flare locked up. Trinity would *not* have stayed in the area. The Russians?

Don't know. When the woman called in, she went by the name Yeltsin. When I tried to poke into her history, I ran into some serious resistance. Had to scrap a couple of systems that got compromised by them.

They did. Trinity made some sort of deal with them. Glacier in exchange for the access we'd need to break some mutants out of Russia's 'school' system. I handled the routing for all the communication. Trinity didn't want her tracing us. Yeltsin was in a massive hurry for us to collect Glacier.

She seemed to have the access. She was able to give us enough information that Trinity was satisfied with making the deal. I don't know that she entirely trusted Yeltsin, but it was business for the greater good or at least that's what Trinity said. She says a lot of things.

I'm not going to make any commitments to the straight or narrow, but I'm done with the Brotherhood, if that's what concerns you. Too many hassles with other mutants that my poor meatsuit can't cope with.
