Xaviers!

Bear was being extra careful to not get off on the wrong foot again.

Gingerly, she knocked on Ashlie's office door, as had been suggested she do after settling in.

"Come in." Ashlie calls out. She's sitting at her desk, presumably working although it's hard to tell with her desk lacking a monitor to go with the computer sitting next to it.

"Miss Minamida? I'm Byrna.. Byrna Cooper."

Bear entered, not quite certain of the new protocols across the Atlantic.

"I wanted to introduce myself."

"Ah yes, the new student. I'm Ashlie Minamida. How can I help you?" she says, looking up and eyes that were previously staring into nothing focus on Byrna.

"I wanted to thank you for all the help you've been in getting my transfer processed so quickly. I'm really looking forward to my time at XU."

She smiled warmly, sincere in her words.

"Oh. Of course." she says, seeming a little surprised. "I'm better at navigating red tape than most people, so I try to sort it fast."

"I also had a favor to ask.. My particular mutations, I've found, require a lot of supplemental equipment.. I know I should have made arrangements before actually getting to England, but, well, the end result is I have a giant shipping container sitting on the front lawn. I was hoping there was lab space somewhere I could uncrate it?"

She gave an uneasy smile.

"We have a workshop for both classes and student projects, but I'm afraid right now it is... being co-opted. You can store it there for now, but you might have to compete for space with some of the other students for now."

"That should be fine. I'll arrange to get it moved down there. Thank you!"

She flipped on her phone, making some notes.

"Any suggestions for getting acclimated to the University?" She asked, curious.

"Talk to your classmates, explore campus. There are plenty of extra-curricular activities provided. You should have received a welcome package that has all your important information in it. If you're on a meal plan then your student ID doubles as a credit card for the cafeteria and around campus. The Student Union is a good place if you're looking to make some connections outside of class. You went to the Institute, so you probably know about the X-Team program and there might be some familiar faces around, we have quite a few Institute Alumni here."

Bear started to take some notes on her phone, but decided it wasn't needed.

"Thank you so much for your help. I'm really excited to get going here!"

"And we're glad to have you. Are you planning on taking any engineering classes?"

"I'm thinking of it as my minor. Physical chemistry is my main area of study, but I'm flexible."

"Ah. Then you might find the material physics side of the workshop more interesting. Most of my Hypertech students seem to prefer the engineering side of things, but that doesn't mean it's more important."

"Sweet! I'll try and flag out a corner there for me to set up... I do tend to wander around, though. Hypertech sounds very interesting."

"You're always welcome to sit in on class and see if you're interested. I'll send you a schedule for our theoretical and practical classes."

"Thank you again!" She exclaimed, clearly happy.

"You're welcome. Is there anything else?"

"That's it for now. Thanks again!"

Bear turned, and headed out.
