"Woah! Easy on the tires!" Will complained, the green light flashing on the radio.

Laura punches the radio, hitting, among other things, the flashing button. She figures that'll probably turn it off.

It didn't!

The first time she hit the button, Will's sentence cut out in mid-run, replaced with what was actually on the radio, only with Will's voice replacing the lead singer.

The second time, Will's voice was replaced by the singer.

The THIRD time, the song cut out and Will continued talking with "...hey! Don't do that. I'm trying to sa...."

The FOURTH time, it went back to Will's voice over the song.

A toggle!

She stops when it's just the song playing and tries to turn down the volume instead.

She can do that! It turns out, it was the dial marked 'volume'.

Laura spends the rest of the short drive in blissful silence. When she gets to the garage she parks Will and turns the radio back on, tuned to Will's voice. She's angry but she's not going to leave him mute. Of course she then pulls the key out of the ignition out of reflex and puts it up behind the sun-visor.

"Thanks for turning up the vo" Will said, before Laura turned everything off.

Will sat there, quietly, parked along with the other university vehicles.
