[Social] Medical Necessities

[Will Stanton]

"For the seventeenth time, checking my blood isn't going to register a dang thing," Will grumbled at the medical staff, giving the X-Team their final checkover before releasing them. "I don't know why I even keep the stuff."

"The on-site team confirmed that Sam had to go to Muir, and that the rest of us were clean. I don't think you need to triple-check their work, unless you sent the work-experience kids out there to give us our checks. No? Then we're good here, right?"

With a frown at his demeanor and a nod, Will was cleared to get up and out of the examination room and rejoin the General Populace.

((Open to people both from the mission and not from the mission. So, uh, everyone, then))

[Robin Stanton]

From an adjacent room Robin's agitated voice can be heard.

"You stick me with that and I'm gonna make you never trust a kitchen appliance ever again! I hate needles!"

[Will Stanton]

"It's just a needle, Robbie; it's not going to hurt you."

[Robin Stanton]

"Worse. It's a pointless needle! I'm fine!"

[Will Stanton]

"Yeah, and they haven't invented the boop-boop blood scanny thing yet, so you just have to put up with it for now. Stone knives and bearskins and all that."

[Robin Stanton]

"Fine, compromise." she says and plucks her little finger off her hand and hands it over to the perturbed nurse. "Here, you can test this." she says, trying not to look too mischievous as she let's the poor nurse put what's basically (and intentionally) Play'doh into a sample container.

[Will Stanton]

Will chuckled and shook his head. "C'mon, snickerdoodle, let's go get some ice cream or something."

[Robin Stanton]

"Man, I am glad you're back in one piece. The other two woulda berated me about pranks or whined about waiting for results. Chuckles and ice cream. Way better."

[Will Stanton]

"Yeah, all in all, it's likely for the best. It'd be convenient to be able to split up like that and multitask, but eh, who am I to step on someone else's gimmick?" he laughed.

[Robin Stanton]

"Whatever will we do now if we need an overzealous jerk and a mewling weenie..." she jokes before adding a slightly more serious "No hard feelings about the desiccator?"

[Will Stanton]

"Hard feelings? No, of course not.

Forget and/or forgive? Uh-uh," Will shook his head.

[Robin Stanton]

"Yeah that... made no sense. Could you repeat that except in a way anybody at all could understand?"

[Will Stanton]

"I'm saying, once I get over the sting of my last prank backfiring so badly, you're next."

[Robin Stanton]

"Ooh, calling your shots, old man? That's bold." she grins.

[Will Stanton]

He just shrugged. "I've been around the block a few times, that's all. It's just a bit of self-confidence. And you'll always be my overconfident brat."

[Robin Stanton]

"Well, bring it." she chuckles. "I'll be ready!"

[Will Stanton]

"You did good work today. Heaven knows, we needed a Stanton there that wasn't going to crumble under electricity. Tell me, do I have a big warning sticker on my head telling baddies to shock me or something?"

[Robin Stanton]

"I mean, they were all juiced up with electric-shark juice. Be glad you didn't get zapped more."

[Will Stanton]

"I swear, though, there's a memo being passed around in Evil Villains HQ or something. A whole armory of cattle prods and tazers, out to ruin my day in particular."

[Robin Stanton]

"Don't look at me, I didn't tell them. Sorry you've been having a rough go at it though. This place definitely sucks a little more than home. Was it like this when you were at Uni with Mum?"

[Will Stanton]

"Eh, close, but not quite. Our first headmaster was kinda a massive tool -- and not literally, like ASHLIE is," he joked. "I think maybe the MRA and stuff like that has everyone a bit more on nerve over here; they balance of how cool mutants are definitely shakes things up a bit. Less out loud and proud."

[Robin Stanton]

"What bollocks. Wait... you mean people in town don't stare because of how kickin' rad I am?"

[Will Stanton]

"Well, you haven't done anything rad here, yet. Reputations don't stretch across interdimensional boundaries! Your Engine followers are in the future in an alternate reality, remember."

[Robin Stanton]

"Doy. But I naturally exude an aura of being fly as heck."

[Will Stanton]

"Well, obviously. But the Stanton charm only takes you so far," he nodded, sagely.

[Robin Stanton]

"Pfsh! You gotta believe in the Heart of the Cool."

[Will Stanton]

"You'll always be cool to me, snickerdoodle," Will smirked.

[Robin Stanton]

"You do realize that's the un-freshest thing imaginable, right?" she chuckles.

[Will Stanton]

"Pretty sure that's straight up my job description as a Dad. You want coolness, you've gotta go find the cool aunt."

[Robin Stanton]

"True, true. You do have your moments though."

[Will Stanton]

"It's been a while, but I can still pull a rabbit or two out of my hat when need be."
