[Drama] Bizarre Love Triangle

[Basil Benson]

"We can." He said. He didn't feel he had anything to be nervous about. He had nothing to hide.

And anyways, Veronica would be able to pound her into pudding if she tried anything funny.

Basil lead the way and knocked lightly on Veronica's open door again, waiting patiently to be invited in.

"it's me again. I've brought someone who wants to meet you, if you're up for it."

[Alice]

Veronica was where Basil had left her, though this time she was looking at something on her tablet when he knocked on her door. She looked up from it and smiled, tapping to pause whatever video she'd been watching before setting it down.

"Hey there. Well, that didn't take long. Whatcha got for me?"

[Basil Benson]

Basil stepped into the room, and held out his hand to beckon Colette to him. He smiled lightly at her, intending to encourage her forward.

"Veronica, this is my girlfriend, Colette."

[Colette Rosenhof]

Colette poked her little pink head around the door, and waved to the girl inside before stepping more into view. "Allo."

[Alice]

Veronica seemed a little surprised by Colette's appearance. That seemed like a detail he wouldn't have overlooked.

"Oh, hello! So you're the lucky lady, huh? Basil has told me a little about you."

[Basil Benson]

"Very little. Free time wasn't exactly a commodity we had in spades." Basil added, but otherwise kept his lips silent, as this wasn't about him. Not really.

[Colette Rosenhof]

"Well yes, of course. And from what you told me, I had to be kept a secret, ozerwise I would be erased too. Yes?" Colette asked, before looking back to the raven-haired girl.

"I just wished to stop and meet ze woman who helped my matou, ehm, my Basil maintain some hope during zat horrible ordeal you boz went zrough. Zank you."

[Alice]

"Indeed. I had no idea you'd be so... French." That was one way to describe her, though from Veronica's tone it didn't sound like any sort of criticism.

"You don't gotta thank me. Basil helped me keep my sanity. And if those other students here hadn't showed up, he'd've been the one who'd've come up with the escape plan."

[Basil Benson]

"Don't oversell it." He replied in a polite awkwardness to Veronica. "My whole plan was to get these people to show up. If they hadn't, I had no bloody clue what to do from there."

[Alice]

"What, like I did? You saw first-hand how limited I am in confined spaces when I'm hugified, so it's not like I had a plan at all. At least you had ONE, and it worked, so it was a good plan."

[Colette Rosenhof]

"Oui matou. From what I have been told, your deception made it possible for you to get ze word out at all. I am certain zat if it had not worked, you would have zought of somezing else. You are a clever boy."

The idea that this tiny woman could be "hugified" amused Colette. She was so petite and pale and... yes, she was taking some time to observe her.

[Basil Benson]

Basil tended to be awkward enough when someone complimented him. Two people doing it caused him to freeze up. Two women doing it turned him scarlet. It took him a moment to collect himself.

"You two are a terrible influence on each other."

[Alice]

Veronica stifled a laugh.

"Cheshire, you're looking more pink than your girlfriend."

[Colette Rosenhof]

"What did you zink we would do togezer?" Colette asked, a leading question.

[Basil Benson]

"I don't know...

Not tag team me." He replied, awkwardly, focusing on the cuff of his sweater seemingly at random and picking at it. It didn't have a loose edge to pick at.

[Alice]

"Colette, did your boyfriend think you were going to get super jealous and attack me or something?" Veronica asked with a hint of smugness.

[Colette Rosenhof]

"No, of course not." Colette actually sounded genuine in her answer. "I may have my faults, many of zem even, but Basil knows zat I am not zat kind of person.

"Zat said, after having been wizout him for so long, ze only tag team partner I am interested in is him and he alone."

Basil looked between the pair during the exchange, uncertain of how to respond directly. He had no clue why Colette wanted to talk to Veronica. Now it almost felt like she just wanted to tease him.

He focused on the second half of the exchange.

" I don't think you're up on your wrestling lingo." He threw out to Colette's erroneous use of the phrase tag team.
