Carlos had been knocked around pretty hard by some concussive force, so he was in the med center for observation--concussions were no laughing matter.

"Ay, dios mio," he grumbled.

“Hello.” Nash said as he entered the room. “How are you feeling?”

He was wearing a set of scrubs complete with a hospital name tag with his name above the words 'Student Assistant'.

"Like someone ran over my head with a truck, which is quite similar to what actually happened, to my understanding."

"Doesn't look like it. I'd expect more of your brains to be on the outside if that had happened." Nash chuckled.

"I'm fairly hard-headed," Carlos joked.

"You must be." He smiled.

"I'm basically just checking up on you. Is there anything I can help you with or get for you?"

"A glass of water would be phenomenal."

"That I can do, be right back." He said as he left the room.

He came back in just a few minutes later with some cups and pitcher.

"Want any ice, or just water?"

"Ice would be great, thanks."

"Okay." He opened the top of the pitcher and poured from the side letting some ice go in one of the cups. He then closed the top and poured more water into the cup.

"Here you go." He said handing the cup to Carlos.

"What exactly happened out there? I've only heard bis and pieces."

"We went to rescue one of the X-Team members from a farmhouse. She had been taken captive by some mutants--possibly a splinter arm of the Brotherhood.

I missed some of it, being unconscious, but they were quite the team. Most of them are locked up up at The Point."

"I know they took Tereza into one of the secure rooms. Everyone else seemed to come out okay."

"I guess I'm mainly just trying it out for now. I thought it would be a good idea for me to try using my powers with things outside my previous specialties."

"I only started less than a week ago so I've just done training stuff. I don't think I've convinced them enough yet for them to let me do much."

"I'm okay with it, it not like their going to just let me come in and do brain surgery." He laughed.

"Yeah," Carlos laughed. "Or else I'd be writing a rather nasty letter.

Assuming I could still write after the lobotomy."

"I was just going to drill a hole in your skull to reduce the pressure. What's the big deal?" Nash grinned.

"Probably not using all that stuff up in there, anyway. What's that old saying, 10% of your brain?"

"That's actually not true at all, that's just a myth."

"Yes, that is true. If you want to put it like that then there are some people I suspect of using even less then 10% of their brains."

Nash looked like he was going to say something but decided not to.

He did say something a moment later "So what have you been up to? Besides the fighting villains thing."
