Dealing With Change.

Nash was laying back in a hospital bed, hands behind his head, staring blankly at the ceiling. The room was full of expensive looking equipment with flashing lights and everything. He was in some sort of force field, but apparently he had some control over it. He sighed, then reached over and used a control panel, the force field glowed brighter. Finally he rolled over to try and get some rest.

It wasn't that easy getting any rest. Thoughts were whirling in his head.

How am I going to deal with this?

Can I deal with this?

It doesn't seem like I have a choice.

Eventually he managed to drift off to sleep, not that it would end up being a pleasant one.

The dream started off like any other. It wasn't exactly what you'd call a bad dream. It was strange as dreams tend to go, not really making much sense in the grand scheme of things. It carried on for sometime before he figured out something wasn't right. What one would normally consider the content of the dream wasn't the issue. It was a sudden realization, that this had to be a dream, that he was still in the hospital, as all he had recently learned raced across his mind.

He woke up in a cold sweat, back in the hospital room he had been checked into earlier. This time he he just laid there unable, or perhaps unwilling, to go back to sleep.

It had been a few days since he had entered the hospital. His condition had mostly stabilized, and now he was slowly getting used to his new... situation.

He was out of bed and working on his laptop, he had been there a few hours already. He designing some sort of high tech gizmo that the nurses that occasionally came in to check on him couldn't make heads or tails of. His mood had improved, but that is not really saying much. He seemed to be determined, doing what ever it was he was doing, so that at least was a good sign.

Nash's mutation finally completely stabilized and he rather quickly got used to the changes, which was with one exception just a strengthening of his powers. Though to his frustration it took a lot to convince the doctors he was okay to leave. They also made him take one simple piece of equipment with him as they thought he might need it. He reluctantly accepted this in order to get out, he wouldn't need it for very long, after all he already had the plans.
