Under the Weather

Other than some deep bruises, cuts, scrapes, and losing consciousness, nothing was seriously wrong with Wanda. Still the losing consciousness was enough to warrant a bed for observation. She shifts position, a little restless as she looks out one of the windows.

"Hey..." Miriam says from the door. Who knows how long she's been standing there while Wanda had been looking out the window.

"Hey," Wanda says, turning to look at Miriam. "Everything mostly okay out there?"

"Pretty much. Better than in here, though the grounds crew is pissed." she says, sounding very curt. After an awkward moment she bursts a little. "What were you thinking? You're lucky you didn't get yourself seriously hurt. Or worse!"

Wanda visibly flinches at the rebuke, "I was thinking that someone needed to at least buy time for the mansion to evacuate."

"If I hadn't gotten lucky, I wouldn't be around to say anything," she jokes weakly. "But no, I wouldn't do anything differently even then."

Miriam frowns but isn't really sure how to express her disapproval without yelling, so she just stays quiet and looks at Wanda.

Right. Wanda doesn't seem to care that Miriam can hear her thoughts. "I was a little out of it at the club, but don't think I didn't notice the jealousy."

Wanda purses her lips. There's a part of her that wants to believe that, but there's a part of her that feels like she knows Miriam enough not to believe that's the entire reason. "Okay, fair enough," she finally says.

"I'm fine now," Wanda says, despite the fact that she's sitting in an infirmary bed. "But if you have a problem with what I did on the grounds, then we will need to have a serious talk when I get out of here."

A young woman in a nurse's outfit with a well-meaning look on her face and hair that seems to move on its own approaches Miriam, "Miss, I need to ask you to calm down. We don't want to disturb the patients."

"I'm sure you are," the nurse says sweetly, walking away, seemingly satisfied that her duty was done.
Wanda looks at Miriam, "Do you have anything else you want to berate me about or are you quite finished?"

"I'm not..." she starts but the downside of telepathy is that she can see exactly how Wanda sees her right now and she trails off. "Get better soon." she just says before turning around and making for the door.
