Tosh stepped up to the window looking into Cam's decontamination room and knocked lightly. The nerd shirt of the day proudly pretended to have a plan.

Cam looked over, and after a moment, pressed the intercom button.

"Something I can do for you?"

He pushed the button on his end.

"I wanted to thank you for saving them. And... well... apologize... again..."

"It was...it was just a thing. No need to thank anyone for anything..." Cam stuttered.

"You could have run away. The fact that you didn't says a lot. You risked your life for people you don't even seem to like and I..."

"Well, I recently assured a friend that I didn't assume the worst about people but with you I was and for that I apologize."

"Mmm," Cam said, clearly a little uncomfortable. "I just...you know. No one else was going to... it wasn't anything, really..."

Tosh noticed the discomfort and decided to try a less touchy-feely approach. "Face it. No one else could have performed such an important experiment in temporal reversion," he said with a light smirk.

"Didn't you say you had once built a time-machine?"

"Well sure but ironically there wasn't time for a repeat performance. There weren't alien shapeshifters trying to kill me in ancient Ireland."

"I'm just saying, that plenty of other people could have worked out a solution, if they had the time and-or the inclination," he said, a bit embarrassed.

"But other people didn't. Forget the 'only you' stuff. That's the point. You were there and you acted. Nevermind the risking of your life or the saving of lives. I salute your dedication to science."

"It's...OK. I'm...glad I could help?"

Cam looked legitimately lost, like he had no idea how to respond to actual praise.

Tosh smiled softly at Cam's confused introversion.

"So what's next for you when you get out of here? An antigravity device made out of a Pez dispenser and some twine?" he asked, "...I don't actually know how your process works..."

"I look for a problem, and then...I solve it. That's really all there is to a process; I look for something that doesn't...that doesn't fit, and I make it fit."

"You make bending the laws of physics sound so easy," he chuckled.

"Well, okay, that's mutants in general."

"How much do we really know the laws of physics? There are plenty of theories out there, but we've pretty clearly shown that they're more loose suggestions."

"Well, my personal theory for my ability is some kind of pocket dimension for mass and energy storage."

"I haven't taken the time to devise a method to. Other things always seemed more important."

"Don't dismiss the physical solutions. Sometimes, the direct method is necessary."

"He technically knows everything I know. He's just a more primal, id-based version of me and when I shift into him I can't easily access that knowledge. The personality change is largely psychological but the IQ drop is an actual neurological change."

"I've been better, to be honest. They assure me everything will be fine as soon as I'm not quite so...radioactive.

It's odd. You would expect more side-effects from this sort of radiation. The cases of Banner and the Fantastic Four are quite well studied."

"So, you'd be alright with levels that caused ordinary cell mutation, then?"
