Saunas are good for hangovers, right?

Molly McFly sat in the sauna, rubbing her temples.

"Ugggggggh."


That about summed it up, yup.

[Jezabelle Sherlock]

A small gust of cool air was a more noticeable sign of the door to the sauna opening than any sound, the girl closing it quietly behind her. Jez saw that the other occupant looked a little down so she didn't want to disturb her. Wrapped up in a large white towel, with her hair bundled up in a second one, and without her glasses on, it was kind of hard to tell who she was at first. She gently set herself down on one of the wooden bench-like seats, kind of regretting that none of her gadgets were waterproof.

[Molly McFly]

"Ugh, why is the door opening so loud" Molly moaned.

It wasn't, but you know, hangovers.

[Jezabelle Sherlock]

"Mm, sorry." Jez said quietly. Maybe she should leave. Yeah, she should probably leave.

[Molly McFly]

"Nnnn, no, no, it's fine. I just made an ass of myself last night."

[Jezabelle Sherlock]

"Oh, the funnel thing?" Jez asked, leaning back a bit. "Well, you had a point. I think the drinking just made things a little more heated than they would've been. I don't think... what's his name, Will? I don't think he knew any better. He certainly wasn't being malicious, otherwise he'd have roofied her or something. But you know, throw in a bit of booze and a molehill becomes a mountain."

[Molly McFly]

"And a mountain of booze is trying to push it's way out of my head at the moment. Ugh."

[Jezabelle Sherlock]

"Have you been drinking any water?"

[Molly McFly]

"Mmm. Yes. And I have some food down.

Just...getting larger, and then smaller, does hell on your alcohol tolerance."

[Jezabelle Sherlock]

"Oh, is that what you do?" Jez asked as she shifted her position a bit. "Wow, that's a pretty useful talent."

[Molly McFly]

"Like, 60 percent of the time, maybe. Not when you're trying to come down from a night partying," she moaned.

[Jezabelle Sherlock]

"I wish I could help you out... I could get you some more water if you want to keep sweating the booze out."

[Molly McFly]

"No, no, I'll be fine....Jez, wasn't it?"

[Jezabelle Sherlock]

She smiled and nodded. "Yeah. And you're Molly, right?"

[Molly McFly]

"That's me! I'm normally nicer than I was last night, sorry about that. You're right about the alcohol not mixing."

[Jezabelle Sherlock]

"Ah don't worry about it. We were probably all a little off. Being in a new place and meeting new people is always super awkward."

She gave Molly a little grin. "I'm always right. And now you know for next time."

[Molly McFly]

"I'll keep it in mind," she laughed, and then winced.

"You seemed to be a little flushed at the party yourself. Feeling OK?"

[Jezabelle Sherlock]

Jez gave the flushed comment a little dismissive wave. "That was more the company than anything else. I had, like, one real drink. One and a half really. But I still wanted to use it as an excuse to try out this place." She closed her eyes and leaned back.

"I'm so not jumping into any ice water after this though."

[Molly McFly]

"Ew, people do that?"

[Jezabelle Sherlock]

"Uh huh. I think it's supposed to shock your system and be good for your heart, or something, I don't know. You couldn't do something like that back home unless you knew a cryokineticist."

[Molly McFly]

"Where's home for you?"

[Jezabelle Sherlock]

"Well I was born in the States..." Jez starts, laying herself out on the bench like she was in a psychiatrist's office. "... but when my parents separated my mom moved to Genosha, and I went with her. I dunno, I guess I think of both of them as home."

[Molly McFly]

"Ah, Mutant Isle. What's that like?"

[Jezabelle Sherlock]

"Eh, I'm not gonna lie, there's good and bad. Class structure is based on your abilities and powers rather than how much money you have, there's a lot of nepotism too. There's lots of good social programs, you know, socialized medicine and the like. But if you have an ability that makes you more adept at a certain field, you're pretty much forced to work that. If I'm a healer but I want to be an artist? Well I can make art on my down time, they want me in a hospital tending to the sick and injured. Anything else would be 'selfish' and 'squandering my gift'. Jez made little air quotes as she talked.

"We're safe from hate crimes, but there's still some persecution... there always will be wherever you go though, so I guess that's nothing new. There's some state censorship, we're not allowed to demonstrate or protest, but they claim it's until we can get the country fully up and running with the Western world. Right now it's a developing nation, one time they'd have called second world.

"I make it sound worse than it is. Have you ever been to a place like Costa Rica? The people are poor, importing makes things cost more, but the people are happy. They have a home, it's easy to grow food and provide for a family, and for a lot of us it's way safer than being anywhere else."

[Molly McFly]

"Man, the news makes it sound like a total hellhole, and the internet makes it sound like a total paradise. I guess it's something in between, huh?"

[Jezabelle Sherlock]

"Pretty much." Jez said with a little sigh, wiggling her toes. "It helps to see it from the outside and the inside, then you see all the good as well as the bad. That's why people should travel abroad, they get to see the world and where they're from in new ways.

"Where are you from?"

[Molly McFly]

"Boston. Well, just outside, actually. I guess it's nice."

[Jezabelle Sherlock]

"It sounds nice! Lots of history in that city. They have that giant Christmas tree, right?"

[Molly McFly]

"Well, not all year round," she teased.

[Jezabelle Sherlock]

Jez let out a snort that grew into a laugh. "You brat. You know what I meant."

[Molly McFly]

She laughed too, wincing only slightly. "Well, you asked."

[Jezabelle Sherlock]

Jez rolled her eyes. "That must be pretty amazing to see."

[Molly McFly]

"Eh, it's a big tree with some lights on it. It's worth seeing once, but it just becomes this thing, you know?"

[Jezabelle Sherlock]

"Well what else is there in Boston that's worth seeing?"

[Molly McFly]

"They have some good nightclubs. Um, good seafood and stuff."
