Wanda stretched out on one of the benches in the Sauna, basking in the heat and steam, looking incredibly relaxed for once.

A much less relaxed looking Nika steps into the room and puts the towel she was wearing down on one of the benches. She just got done working out and is still pretty tense, her muscles prominent under her skin. She rolls her shoulders and sits down, giving Wanda a curt nod. "Hey."

Wanda glances towards Nika and then looks away. "Hello. I haven't seen you around much before. New?"

"Relatively, yes. Nika Novak, pleased to meet you." she says. She doesn't seem too concerned about modesty. It's a sauna after all and she almost seems a little confused that Wanda is avoiding looking at her as they talk.

Wanda glances back in her direction and seeing that Nika doesn't seem to care, she maintains her gaze. "Wanda Johansson. I can't quite place your accent. Where are you from?"

"Symkaria born and raised. You?"

"Sweden. Some deep family roots there. I've never been to Symkaria. What's it like there?"

"Difficult, I believe is the polite term. But there's plenty to be proud of if you know where to look. The people don't have much, but they cherish what they do. The country still exists, that alone speaks for our tenacity." she smirks slightly.

Wanda seems to wrack her brain and then says, "It's next door to Latveria, right? I can see how that would cause a lot of difficulties."

"There's a lot of tension, which makes for lots of opinions on how things should be handled."

“I imagine there’s as many opinions there as there are opinions on how mutant issues in general should be handled.”

"Just about. But mutants are generally treated well. It's a small country and there's only few of us but our power makes us valuable."

"What is it you do? If you don't mind me asking that is."

"I'm a bodyguard. I'm here accompanying Katarina Karkov to ensure her safety."

"I would imagine that's a difficult job. Of course, here you have the X-Men to back you up."

"It'd be easier if she wasn't determined to make it difficult." she says with a tone of vaguely amused exasperation. "But yes, this place does appear to be safer than most schools."

"I think once someone gets a bodyguard, it's a little natural to rebel against that a little, even if they know the bodyguard's necessary," Wanda says with a small chuckle.

"Can't blame her, no. Her duty's more important than her personal life and she didn't get a say in that."

"Yeah, it's rough when that happens," Wanda says, obviously holding back a little. "Not much to do but deal with the situation as it stands though."

“Perhaps,” Wanda muses. “Some people here are quite in love with their own circumstances, whether they’d admit it or not.”

“Very true,” Wanda nods. “How are you finding being in the UK?”

"I haven't seen much of it yet, to be honest. Life seems... easier here?" she says, sounding like that's not necessarily a good thing.

"Define 'easier'," Wanda says, "Because I think our definitions of 'easy' may not mesh."

"May be a language thing. I don't mean as in having enough food, shelter or anything. Just more... coddled?"

"It's possible. Some of the people who came here came from places that are unsafe for mutants like Russia or the United States, so the university tries to provide them a sort of haven if possible. At least, that's the theory at any rate."

"Oh here is different. I thought we were talking about the UK in general."

"Oh, yes. I don't know that I'd classify them as coddled. More... reserved."

"Peace of mind and all that," she says, waving a hand lazily in the air. A cloud of steam begins to gather and swirl in response.

"I've done a lot of work to be able to ignore it. There's a lot of interactions though and it can be kind of easy to get lost in them. In here, things are more contained, there's fewer variables."
