Aiden had changed into moderately more presentable clothes, or at least he was wearing a shirt when he went with Katarina to the pub in the XUB. Rather the shirt was a skin-tight under suit in Genoshan colors, but Aiden figured spandex was likely common on the campus.

"Now that you've been on the campus for a few days what do you think?" Aiden asked.

"I'm not sure my opinion is really fair -- after all, that Hollydale...event...isn't particularly representative now, is it?"

"Not unless super villains creating havoc via augmented reality is a regular affair similar to mid-term examinations," Aiden said with a wry smile. "Though it was an... interesting experience."

"I was a prince cursed into a dragon form in some sort of high fantasy story," Aiden said, "There was a group of heroes trying to end the curse or my rule. I'm not sure which the plot was... unclear."

"What do dragons do in stories? Fly around the country side hunting sheep or flying off with princesses," Aiden smiled. "Fortunately, the only habit has been constantly wanting to hoard things. Especially shiny things. Was starting to pocket silverware from the cafeteria before I realized what I was doing."

"I somehow doubt that would make you the oddest person in the room at any given time.

A weakness for shiny things. You don't say," Katarina smiled again, resting one elbow on the table.

"Shiny things and Princesses, yes," Aiden smiled. "What kind of dragon would I be otherwise?"

"Anything from your time in Hollydale stay with you?"

"It was...a mixed bag, I should say. I run this...this sort of bar, thing, on the beach. It was nice not to have so much responsibility, but I was not particularly well-liked."

"Might carry some of those opinions with them," Aiden shugged. He began the process of ordering a drink before looking at Katarina. "Did you want something to drink? I did promise you a drink after all."

"That would be wonderful, thank you," she smiled. "People get back to normal here rather quickly, don't they?"

Aiden was uncertain for a moment. He ordered himself a a pint of beer and gestured for Katarina to order.

"Much faster than I expected of them," Aiden said, "Much faster than I would have expected of any civilians."

Aiden paused for a moment.

"Well, nothing quite like this. But when your neighboring leader has a law on the books penalizing looking discontented, operates a Hypnoticon and has a fleet of robot duplicates, then you do learn to be prepared for anything."

"Quite. They taught us similarly during our basic training. Be prepared for anything, sentinels, tanks, villagers with pitchforks," Aiden said, "I still froze the first time I was on a mission. Though the training took over quickly enough."

"I mean, I suppose that is her job, and she means well. She's just worried about everything, from alien attacks to splinters. I like her, but it gets very...oppressive at times."

The former was experimentation when I was younger. The latter, an end result of lingering a tad too close to practice for the Symkarian Royal Guard."
