Basil was supposed to be working, but he could never be alone for long. He found his usual spot and set down his things, then got the drinks, letting Will order whatever he fancied.

For Basil it was a Pimms cup.

OK, it IS something you ask for, in roundabout ways. I suggested that I could serve as their bed -- soft, comfortable, big, and gone when they needed space. I don't think Viv or Sam thought that was a great idea, though Tereza seemed somewhat intrigued.

I wouldn't take up much space, but they're not very explicit on what they actually want me to do. And they have space constraints as it is."

"You can't sleep in the closet Will, you're a person. You belong where people stay."

"I don't actually think she is? Her status confuses me, but I THINK she's only SECRETLY a robot, so she gets around that.

And even if not, she'd be, you know, like, several rungs higher than me on whatever totem pole you've got going there."

If the other student wasn't going to stand up for himself directly, Basil couldn't force him to. But he could try to convince him to in less direct ways perhaps.

I was the X-Team leader, once. Back home. I couldn't bring myself to use the main office though -- Kurt Wagner used that office, it wasn't my office. So I re-purposed a supply closet."

Basil began to giggle and whatever thoughts were in that warped head of his caused him to go invisible.

"Yes, I could think of a few." He replied, noticing he was gone again after a beat or two.

Damn sight more useful than dodgy invisibility. He thought to himself.

"Interesting." Basil didn't actually expect so much honesty on the matter, he sounded impressed.

" Well, I don't think a person should ever be embarrassed about sharing their thoughts, provided they aren't actively harmful to another. It's not as if we've family dorms on this campus. We're all adults.

But keep in mind admitting to reading fan fiction is akin to admitting you're a huge nerd." He added with an amused tone.

Basil didn't address the need to be embarrassed bit, as Will obviously was and it seemed clear to him being nagged about it wouldn't help Will any.

"That was my first thought -- or the nervousness leading up to it. But it's lingered. Maybe I'll go get myself checked out later.

It doesn't seem to be causing harm to anything but my ego and relationships, though, so it'll probably be fine."
