Tosh, all patched up and back in his civvies, seated himself at the bar. He texted Steph while he waited for whoever was on shift.

“Hey handsome,” a voice appeared suddenly to his side. “Just about to get off.”

Stephanie smiled at him, looking down at her phone at his text. “So a drink sounds great.”

Are we not doing phrasing anymore?

"I figured we deserved a reward for saving the world," he said, turning to smile up at her.

"You more than me," she smiled pushing her hair back out of her face and untying her apron. "Using that big brain of yours to solve things *and* kicking butt? All I did was rip up a lot of robots."

Stephanie folded the apron and set it next to her on the bar as she took a seat. "Said robot disassembly did however make my growly half happy enough to let the normal me spend some time running the show."

There wasn't even a hint of yellow in her chestnut eyes as she looked back at him, "never going to be a boring day here, is there?"

"Not a one," he grinned. "Even let my inner polecat kick some butt this time. He's hell on robots."

"And I... umm... dove off a cliff like some kind of rocket ferret," he admitted.

“I feel like my other half would mostly want to try to chase you like a squirrel if you did that near me,” she chuckled.

"And you'd eventually tackle me and we'd both end up smelling like wet dog all day," he laughed.

“I feel like I *always* smell like wet dog,” she smirked.

He leaned over and sniffed. "Nope. Beer and... some kind of flowery shampoo?"

“You have the best responses to these things. I award you 18 boyfriend points.” she chuckled, leaning over and giving him a peck on the cheek.

"So what's my score so far?" he smiled.

“Seven,” she smirked mischievously, unable to resist teasing the poor boy.

"But... you just gave me 18. Was I negative?" he said worriedly before her expression registered.

"I really need to get better at recognizing teasing."

“Don’t try too hard. It’s kind of adorable,” she chuckled.

“Maybe we can celebrate properly soon...go out for a date *not* to my place of employment or one of our rooms.”

She took a sip of her drink, “not that we can’t still wind up back there eventually, mind you.”

"Well, Valentine's Day is coming up. I'll try to come up with something suitably romantic."

“....Steak is very romantic, my other half wishes me to convey to you. “

He laughed. "Makes my job easier," he grinned.

“Well, I’m enough work as is...have to make SOME things easy, I suppose,” she smiled.

"I wouldn't say you're high maintenance at all," he answered.

Stephanie pulled out here phone and pantomimed adding several things to a list and nodding approvingly while looking at Tosh. “Yep. If you keep this up you might be in triple digits within a few weeks. That might even qualify you for a promotion.”

She laughed, “god this joke is stupid, I’m sorry for beating a dead horse. But. The long story short is, you’re a great guy and I’m lucky I found you.”

He smiled warmly, "Not as lucky as I am. Abused horse corpses notwithstanding."
