DT1: A Different Kind of Wild

[Hannah Murphy]

Murphy conjures up the memory of a large, angry bear charging at her, roaring loudly.

[Samantha McManus]

Sam isn't particularly scared, but certainly startled. She misses the edge of the dartboard by an inch or two.

"...touche."

[Hannah Murphy]

Em-bear-rassing.

Murphy smirks.

[Samantha McManus]

"Puns? We're up to puns now? Perhaps I should rethink this."

This time she manages to mostly keep her concentration and hits a double fifteen.

[Hannah Murphy]

Good job.

As Sam lines up her next shot, Murphy watches innocently until just before it looks like Sam is going to throw.

Like girls?

[Samantha McManus]

This throw definitely goes wild, and the blush spreading to the tips of Sam's ears seems to have hit home as well.

However, the presence in Sam's mind that Murphy sensed earlier has returned, and Murphy has its full attention as Sam turns around slowly, deliberately, to make eye contact with Murphy.

"...aye."

"You?"

[Hannah Murphy]

Murphy matches Sam's eye-contact. Like everyone.

[Samantha McManus]

"Nothing wrong with that."

Sam strides towards Murphy, not breaking eye contact.

"I like you. Specifically."

[Hannah Murphy]

If Murphy noticed anything odd about Sam's shift in behavior, she gave no indication.

Like you too.

Murphy grins.

Fun to play with.

[Samantha McManus]

"What was that you were curious about earlier? Oh aye, it was this."

And that's when Sam, having to nearly stand on her tiptoes, tries to kiss Murphy.

Murphy leans down to help Sam out a bit, returning the kiss from the redhead with a happy sigh.

Technically, it was her first kiss, but that wasn't going to shake her confidence.

Not bad.

"Just that? I'll have to try harder."

She leans up for another kiss with considerably more fervor.

[Hannah Murphy]

Murphy puts her arm around Sam's waist to help support her a bit, kissing back with equal enthusiasm.

[Samantha McManus]

When Sam finally comes up for air, there's a bit of a wild look in her eyes and a giddy grin on her face.

"...God, I've been wanting to do that forever."

[Hannah Murphy]

You too?

[Samantha McManus]

"Not that easy to work up the nerve, aye?"

[Hannah Murphy]

Murphy shakes her head.

More fun to wait.

[Samantha McManus]

"Well I'm just pashing with you, not trying to get into your trousers," she chuckles.

[Hannah Murphy]

Murphy didn't know what "pashing" was, but she got the general sentiment. She shook her head. She didn't have any real experience with this sort of thing, but the New Age environment she was raised in was decidedly not about abstinence only education.

It was difficult to put into words, but it was more like Murphy put off being forward in the same way that a cat plays with a mouse. She liked teasing and flirting. She liked getting Sam to pursue her.

Otherwise, she would've just kissed Sam when they were swimming in the Danger Room.

Now there was a mental image.

A wide grin spreads across Sam's face.

"You like to be chased. I can appreciate that."

[Hannah Murphy]

Chase. Be chased.

Murphy's eyes sparkle.

Both fun.

[Samantha McManus]

"That's a beautiful way to think about it."

[Hannah Murphy]

Simple.

Murphy pulls Sam in a bit closer.

Like simple.

She's leans down so that she's close to Sam's face. Her lips brush against the redhead's again and she runs her free hand through Sam's hair.

Then she pulls away and with a grin starts walking back towards the dart board.

The presence Murphy has felt in Sam's mind thrills at that closeness and seemingly... also at the pulling away. It's just fine with wanting more.

"Simple I can do," she sends, still grinning.

"Your turn," she reminds Murphy, watching the tall girl closely.

[Hannah Murphy]

And yours.

Murphy picks up the darts and walks back to the starting position. She takes a deep breath and starts to line up the shot.

Sam tries to use the mental link to make Murphy feel like the redhead is standing inches behind her.

It's the telepathic equivalent of 'I'm not touching you,' essentially.

[Hannah Murphy]

Murphy throws. Eighteen points!

On to you.

Murphy smirks, lining up her next shot.

[Samantha McManus]

"No reaction? Fine, then..."

Sam ups the ante by imagining nibbling on Murphy's ear.

[Hannah Murphy]

Murphy smiles, Sam's antics throwing off her aim. She almost misses the board entirely and only manages a measly three points.

She glances over her shoulder at Sam with a wild grin. She shoots an image back at Sam of the two of them in the forest. She kisses Sam deeply, softly growling as her hands slide down Sam's waist...

And while she's distracting Sam, she tries to throw again, hoping to get a clean throw off before Sam can counter.

It's like they say, the best defense is a good offense!

"So is that what happens when I catch you, or when you catch me?"

Sam is well and truly distracted, right up until she hears the thunk of the dart hitting the board.

"...clever," comes across the link. More amused than anything.

[Hannah Murphy]

It might be clever, but it did not allow for careful aim. The throw earns her two points, mostly by accident.

Murphy smiles. Catch me and find out.

[Samantha McManus]

"Oh, so it's a race now?" Sam smirks, pushing off from the wall she'd been leaning on.

[Hannah Murphy]

Murphy grins. There's a wild gleam in her eyes, More of a hunt.

Games and competitions were fun, but this...this was something different. This would be Murphy in her element, matching wits and skills against another person for the first time.

The idea excited her. On multiple levels.

Sam meets the grin with a wild one of her own.

"You're. On."

[Hannah Murphy]

Murphy walks to the door.

Be waiting for you.

And then she runs out into the night.

[Samantha McManus]

With a giddy laugh, Sam runs off as well, giving chase.
