Basil arrived with his bookbag over his shoulder, slumping with a thud into one of the empty couches in the communal area of the Union Building. The one he liked best.

He placed the bag in front of him first and pulled out his tablet, before setting it beside him and laying out across the length of the couch. He made sure to leave on his streetpass just in case someone wandered by who had furniture he'd yet to see before, but otherwise he was content to read whatever bloody nonsense it was he was looking at.

Across the couch was a seemingly disembodied set of jeans and a hoodie with some rather stylish looking shoes, which rather didn't match the rest of his casual outfit.

The little green light blips on Basil's 3DS as a girl in an oversized hoodie and jeans entered, though her shoes weren't quite as fancy; a mismatched pair of Chucks with one being pink sapphire and the other beach glass. She sat herself down roughly into the couch opposite of the pile of clothes. Someone must've been relaxing and left to get a coffee or something. It didn't matter much to her, she was already digging into her paperback copy of Luna from the library.

Furniture? Oh, it was his lucky day. Someone who did a LOT of grinding in that game was there, and their gates were open.

Basil noticed the light turn on from his chest, and set down his tablet on the provided coffee table between them. Normally he would say hello to another who sat down close to him, but he noticed the girl was deep into her book and figured that meant she did not wish to be disturbed. He then opened his DS to see what it had found.

From Jez' perspective, the clothing rolled about as if someone was inhabiting it, and then sat upright ever so slightly. She probably wouldn't have noticed it though until she heard the familiar though indistinct babble of Isabelle greeting someone.

Jez's interest was piqued. Plopping the book open on the arm of the couch she fished around in the pocket of her hoodie to fish out her DS, tapping on it softly before smiling.

Jez wouldn't find anything fun or exciting that was not already in her catalog when she went to check.

Basil however did, but as per the usual, everything cost an arm and a leg.

Hpmh. Highway bloody robbery. He thought to himself.Might as well rename you 'Stand and Deliver Digby.'

Then he got an idea. He went down the screen and spoke with Porter to open his gates and invite the nearby person into his town.

After a few minutes, Basil would get a notice about a visitor to his town.

"Nice flag."

Basil's town was named 'Bensonville.' His flag was a circle with two B's inside of it. Basil chortled out loud at the other players response.

"I'm a narcissist." He messaged back once he had found the visitor, his villager dancing in circles around his new guest. There was only so much customization one could do with a villager, but he had done his best to make it look like him. At least, the him that was. He wore a purple and blue argyle sweater top and black dress pants and shoes. His eyes were blue, and his hair black and wavy.

He still had a sparkler in his hand, probably obtained from the weekly fireworks shows during the month of august.

The visiting villager gave a happy waving emote. With her hair up in a bun and glasses on, the face had been made to look a lot like Jez's own. It wore a QR-coded dress that was made to look like the female trainer outfit from Pokemon Black and White.

Basil furrowed his brow and looked up from his DS to find the girl across from him was now on her own. Making the connection, he bit into his own lip to keep from saying anything.

"Yes." He responded. Then after using the 'laugh' response said. " I see you."

That wasn't creepy or anything.

Jez peeked up over her DS and looked around. She didn't see anyone nearby, unless the person who put their clothes on the couch was maybe hiding behind the couch? Funny how they're laid out like that....

He noticed he was being looked at, and thought maybe she had figured it out. So he waved at her with an invisible hand, and spoke.

"Hello!" He greeted in a chipper tone.

Jez let out a startled shriek and dropped her DS, before covering her mouth with her hands. Her face flushed with embarrassment.

"I'm s-sorry, I thought you were a ghost."

Basil shrank a bit at the frightened sound, closing his own DS and setting it next to his tablet on the coffee table.

He bent down and picked up Jez' for her, then gave it a quick look over before holding it out to her, seemingly held aloft by nothing.

"Apologies. I didn't mean to scare you." He said in a quiet voice, obviously a bit embarrassed himself.

"Ah, no. I am flesh and blood, like yourself."

"No, I'm the one who should apologize. I've lived among Superiors long enough that I shouldn't be surprised by our uniqueness anymore." Shame tinged her words as she reached out for her DS, her fingers brushing Basil's due to her inability to really see where they were.

"I'm sorry."

"It's alright. It's normal." The voice reassured her. He scared people all the time, which is why he stopped leaving his personal quarters since before he left for the school, and now the grounds since he'd been here.

Basil's hands were rather soft for a young man's, the backs of his fingers retreating from her touch as she took her object back.

"Superiors?"

"Oh. Yeah. From Homo Superior. Lord Eisenhardt thinks the term "mutant" too often has a negative connotation. He encourages us to call ourselves and each other by more positive terms."

Jez looked a little surprised at first, then remembered where she was. "Oh! Of course, you wouldn't have heard of him by his real name. You've probably know of him as most people do, as Magneto."

She couldn't really look him in the eyes as she spoke, so instead she looked at the back of his shirt collar.

Most people would focus on Jez' first name as unusual, Basil did not.

Not one to question a lady's request, Basil moved from his spot to where Jez beckoned him to.

"I''d wager you do." Basil stated, leaving the comment hang for a moment.

"But then again I've never been a particular fan of Rinky-dink Cabbagepatch so perhaps I am not the best person to ask."

His collar gave and bent a bit as he turned his head.

"What were you reading before I interrupted you?"

Jez's cheeks flushed a little bit at the compliment. "I guess you're not a Superwholock then."

She patted the arm of the chair and found her book, using the dust jacket to mark her place. "It's called Luna. It's young adult; it might not be Harry Potter but it's pretty good."

"I haven't seen one of the three shows in order to form a strong fan attachment." Jez could easily enough guess he was speaking of Supernatural, but then again if she thought about it further, it also meant he knew what she was talking about.

"I think it would also cause a lot of young adults to think a bit deeper than they're used to as well." He added to Jez' assessment of what she was reading, meaning he had also read this book.

"I read a lot of things, especially the books in the young adults section. Most of the books that get checked out here are checked out from that section, and I work in the library." He explained. "That's not a campus favourite, but it's an interesting read all the same."

"Well, it's more like a paid intern position right now I suppose. I'm just the assistant, but nothing states I stay when I am done.

Library sciences is my major. I do enjoy books and well... the library is the one place I enjoy being in that a person is best seen and not heard. And I am neither." He commented in a show of self deprecating humour.

"One day during winter holiday, I went to bed early because my grandparents and I were going out for a family day the next morning.

And that's the last time anyone saw me with the naked eye.

Bubbe was so frightened I was sure she'd had a heart attack. But she didn't, thankfully.

Since then, I've dealt with this condition the best that I can. "
