I2: Burger Time

[Toshiro Narumi]

Tosh sat at one of the outdoor tables, snacking on a hamburger while he tinkered with some robot schematics on his tablet.

[Haley Crusek]

Haley hesitated as she saw Tosh, thinking back to what a hot mess she had been the last time she really tried to talk to him, but after a moment decided to walk over to him, a paper tray filled with fries (she was having a hard time learning to call them chips), and a huge burger.

"Hey, cutie. Mind if I join you?"

[Toshiro Narumi]

He looked up, briefly startled.

"Oh! H-hey Haley. Yeah sure."

[Haley Crusek]

"Thanks," she smiled, taking a seat. "Sorry about the other night. I...uh....kinda had a lot to drink."

[Toshiro Narumi]

"It's alright. I got so drunk after Molly's party I went out looking for my other self like he's a separate person."

"... I woke up on the lawn."

[Haley Crusek]

"I probably would have too if someone else hadn't been there."

Haley unwrapped her burger and took a huge bite out of it. How did she do that? Did her jaw unhinge like a python?

"I uh. Still meant basically everything I said, though."

[Toshiro Narumi]

Tosh wasn't one to judge; not with how he ate.

"About?" he asked, playing dumb.

[Haley Crusek]

"Everything," she said enigmatically while wiping a bit of ketchup off the side of her mouth with a napkin, a mischievous twinkle in her eye. "You know. Maybe just text me if your roommate happens to disappear for a while and you want to hang out alone."

[Toshiro Narumi]

His eyes widened for a split second and he blushed just a little.

"I... wh-wha... alone? In my room?"

Poor breakable boy brain.

[Haley Crusek]

"Sure. Watch a movie, make out, play a game, study, just talk," she smirked.

[Toshiro Narumi]

"Oh! Right. Y-yeah... I'd like that," he smiled.

[Haley Crusek]

"Awesome. I think we'll have a lot of fun," she grinned, her expression still promising mischief. "When do you think you can ditch your roommate?"

[Toshiro Narumi]

"He's busy in the workshop a lot, so... pretty soon," he said, smirking faintly.

[Haley Crusek]

"Good. Easier that way. Dudes also probably care less that you have someone of the opposite sex over, otherwise I'd invite you to my place. We could also check out the maze sometime. Supposed to be really hard to solve, and it's really big so I bet there's lots of pretty secluded places where we wouldn't get bothered," she said enigmatically.

[Toshiro Narumi]

Haley would no doubt pick up Tosh's feelings of nervous disbelief about the situation, and his other half's 'I told you so' grin.

"Wh-when's good for you? For the room thing, I mean," he asked.

[Haley Crusek]

"Whenever," she smiled enigmatically, "I mean I don't have class today until 3."

[Toshiro Narumi]

"I have a class in about thirty minutes," he said, suddenly hating math, "So... maybe... Tuesday?"

[Haley Crusek]

"Tuesday sounds good," she said through a mouthful of burger, "But I'll just be hanging out until class if you get out of class early, or ditch or something," she continued licking a stray bit of ketchup from her finger flirtatiously.

[Toshiro Narumi]

"Ugh... my parents would freak if I skipped class."

We are one lucky dude, bro. She's like...
Telepath!

He reddened slightly.

[Haley Crusek]

"That's fine--I know mine would too."

Haley was pretty sure she heard Bruce, so she made no effort to keep her thoughts to herself.

Though how would they know?

[Toshiro Narumi]

They'd know. Somehow.
They probably have, like, homework ninjas or something.

[Haley Crusek]

Haley just kept eating her burger, smiling cheerfully.

She certainly wasn't sending suggestions to Bruce and Tosh telepathically of what might happen. Nope. Not at all.
