Nailah suddenly looks very interested rather than merely curious, nodding at Sean's explanation. "Is it ever wrong?"

"Wrong?" Sean asked. "No, it's like a schematic or a setc of instructions. When I was younger I simply wasn't that skilled at using magic so things would blow up in my face."

"Quite," Sean said arcing an eyebrow as Nailah stared past him. "Even when people have mastered their craft they make mistakes, right? And I'm not a master of magic by any means."

"With magic?" Sean said, "Fireballs, lightning bolts, simple enchantments like those golems or the paper, tearing holes in reality, so basically the violent brute force side of magic."

"Oh, hmm. Okay." she says, sounding almost a bit disappointed, her hopes for some insight into her own power going unfulfilled. It was probably a bit too optimistic to hope for, even if some of what Sean had mentioned sounded a lot like her own power.

"I hate fireballs. They're the worst." she says and carefully opens one of her wings. At a glance the wing looks fine, but looking at it closely it's noticeable that a good chunk of feathers is much lighter in color and here and there much smaller ones still haven't grown all the way in again. Spread around those in a vague circle are feathers that were only singed at the fringes and are still kind of blackened in on the edges.

"I always loved the surprise of creating a sword out of flame, but creating an actual focus would probably be useful," Sean smiled. "Probably could layer enchantments on the focus and a coat or uniform..."

Sean paused for a moment.

"You'd have to worry about how the enchantments would interact to avoid explosions or some other critical failure. Might actually need reagents to do it instead of simply charging runes with magic, but maybe could do it so the runes drew upon my personal energy when they activate like if a bullet hit the coat the proper enchantment would... Right, that probably made about as much sense as you trying to explain to me how wings work," Sean said, "Should probably just go with that this whole hero thing sounds rather rewarding."

"It'd take time while I work on it," Sean said, "My enchanting skills aren't that good, yet. I would also have to figure out how to circumvent the fact that you can't fuel the enchantment with magic on your own, which means I would have to imbue it somehow. Meaning I have to find a material that will store magical energy or some other alternative..."

"And there I go again with an explanation you probably didn't want. So really I could do it eventually, but I have to work out the whole how thing."
