Basil burst out in laughter at Colette's question. She probably didn't mean for it to be as funny as he found it, but in truth the description kind of suited Chase to a T. A mysterious figure who stalked about campus with amnesia? Yes, quite apt.

Basil's laughter now was different then the casual , polite laughter from before. It was loud and boisterous, which meant it had to be genuine. If Colette was extremely observant, she'd notice there were tears forming around his eyes from laughter, which he then proceeded to wipe away quickly.

"Oh, whooo, sorry. I'd explain but... It's... one of those things you would have to know him to appreciate."

Basil quieted up when she said she wanted to know more about him. "Oh, there isn't much to know about me really. One day I was visible and then the next day I wasn't. Now I work here."

Colette took some little bit of satisfaction in having gotten such a reaction out of the young man, even if it wasn't intentional. She tilted her head slightly.

"You work here, at ze bar?"

"No at the library. I aligned my studies in such a fashion my associate's got me into a position as a library technician, and now I am working towards my bachelor's in library sciences."

Basil shrugged.

"It was my plan all along, just not here."

The green hue was beginning to show in her hair as well, the girl fading from a peach/raspberry jello to a lime jello appearance.

Basil shrugged again, but then opened his mouth. And then there came the truthiness he should just keep to himself. It was a conversation he'd have with someone who he knew wasn't sexually interested in him without the help of intoxication. 'What's your type?' was a game he'd played before with people, just not potentially straight female ones.

"I think perhaps it has less to do with coloration and more to do with body type. I mean, I like cool colours, so her eyes would probably be blue and she would probably have a cool undertone, but I've never given a lot of thought to specific hair or skin colours."

Basil chuckled ruefully. "Probably not, but at the same time, if they aren't attracted to a person, you can't expect them to want to 'play' either. And generally speaking the sorts of people who say things like 'I like this sort of man or woman' aren't the sort of people who are looking for real love. They're looking to get laid."

Colette flushed slightly. "I apologize. I just... I have no patience for zis high school alpha male bullshit, trolling for girls as zough zis were all a game, zat zey are simply animals wizout feelings. I have had to deal wiz my fair share of such... children, spending too much time looking at pictures from Japanese artists on ze internet and trying to make me zeir... 'waifuuuu'." She flexed her digits in air quotes. "No girl likes being reduced to someone's kink or fetish."

"Zank you." Colette said softly. She wasn't sure how to take that first part, but she was kind of used to being associated with certain content normally seen only online. She looked down at her hand for a moment when he asked about her appearance.

"Oh! Zhis? Sorry! I did not intend to worry you. Strongly-coloured foods often have a lot of natural or artificial dyes. Zey can sometimes have an effect on me. Zis is normal, it will fade in time.

"So, what do you zink? Do you see why I enjoy champagne odzer zan it reminding me of home?" She smiled, looking very much like a green bottle of bubbily.

Colette got up from her seat and moved closer, sitting down next to Basil and smoothing out her skirt once more. She fumbled around in her purse for a moment as she spoke.

"Alright. I want you to close your eyes, and give a big smile, okay? And try to ignore it if zis feels weird. It will only be a moment." She wrapped an arm around his shoulder, getting rather close rather suddenly.

"Are zey closed?"

Basil could feel her hand touch his cheek with it's warm gelatin-like texture. In only a few breaths that feeling became more wet, spreading over his entire face quickly. It didn't feel slimy, just... wet.

"Keep smiling keep smiling ignore it aaaaaaaaand..." *click* "Done!"

The wetness sensation retracted almost instantly, the girl tapping at the screen of her phone.

The face she was looking at, had it not been formed of her own body and visible to most, probably would be relatively appealing to quite a few girls. He had very defined features, including a cleft in his chin. His nose was perhaps a bit more prominent than some girls might like, but no one could be perfect.

"I'm just glad you didn't get it in my hair. You would have had to take half of it with you." He joked.

Even in his drunken fog, Basil realized there was no way the other student could have known that. Mainly, because she'd been on campus, what, a day?

But he could determine she was trying to be nice to him by the way she was hugging him, so he didn't argue.

"Hey now, don't cry, or I'll start in and then we'll just be a couple of blubbering babies."

He didn't really know if he wanted to hug her back, so he settled at resting his hand on the back or her head.

While her "skin" may have been translucent, her "hair" was much more opaque, so that her face was rather well hidden.

"If your friends did not support you, zen zey were never really your friends. I did not have many friends as I was growing up because of what I am. Zey looked out for me, and helped me get here today. The people at zis school are working to help me as well. My family, we are not very wealzy, and my government was not very supportive of me studying abroad. But ze staff at zis school worked hard to bring me here, even to accommodate my choice of majors as no cooking school would ever admit someone like me."

She looked up at him and forced a little smile. "If zey did all of zis for me, dzen zey will do just as much for you. It may take time, but I am certain someone, somewhere, is trying to help you."

Basil was listening. Kinda. He'd heard everything she had said anyways, but his hand started playing with her hair as she was speaking to him. Maybe it was the booze. Or maybe he was just trying to distract her from his own problems. Or both.

"Not much of 'me' left to help love." While she was pouring her heart out, Basil had been manipulating one of her gelatinous pigtails as gently as he could into a bun, just on the one side. He held it in place with his hand, since it didn't seem to be sticking to itself at the moment.

"There. Now you look more like Bunny. Or perhaps the villainess, the sexy one with the black dress and the pink hair. Or you would were you still pink."

Colette sat up, gently patting at the bun which stayed in place, defying gravity. A slender hand dipped into her purse to produce a compact make-up mirror, the girl looking at herself curiously. Without her touching it, the other pigtail slowly retracted and changed shape to match Basil's handiwork.

"Give me an hour or more, and I will be my usual pink and proper self again. Zat, or a strawberry milkshake."

The phrase that came to mind was 'abandoned houses still creak', but even drunk Basil wasn't much of a debater, he let it drop.

"Candy floss..." He offered out of nowhere. It was what he thought of when the colour pastel pink came to mind, not that he clarified that at aaallll.

He looked at what she had done with her hair. "Cute." He commented, sounding genuine enough in his comment even though it wasn't as well thought out as some of the compliments that came out of his mouth.
