Sept 2nd - X-Team Sign-Ups

The morning after the convocation a couple members of University staff are setting up a small booth in the Student Union building. X-23 is helping them, at least if 'not getting in the way' falls under helping. Unlike her normal expression she does actually somewhat look like she wants to be there, especially once the booth is ready and stocked with various information regarding the X-Team program. She's wearing a black combat uniform with yellow high-lights that form a big X across her chest and is trying her best to look approachable, which ends up coming across as almost a little awkward.

Tereza had been on her way somewhere else, but the sight of the booth grabbed her attention and she wandered over to look at the information and occasionally glancing slightly nervously at X-23.

"I swear I don't bite, kiddo. They made me sign a piece of paper and everything." she says. "You thinking about joining the teams?"

"Thinking about it," she said. "Want to but not really sure yet. A lot of new stuff going on." She tried to shrug off her nervousness.

"Yeah, my gut's been wrong a time or two in pretty big ways," she said, picking up some of the information and leafing through it to give her hands something to do.

Tereza mulled that over while she looked at the info without seeing it. Finally she nodded, "I suppose you're right. Worst I can do is try and fail, right?" She managed a smirk, "Where do I sign?"

"Just take one of these and get it back to me." she says, taking one of the pre-packages binders and hands it to her. "I has the training schedule, some stuff about getting you a suit and a place for your codename if you want one and an access card for stuff like the Danger Room. That'll get loaded up with your info by means of some form of electronic magic, I believe."

Sam has been staring intently at the booth from one of the couches for the past several minutes. Well, she's been trying to be subtle about it.

Tosh approached the booth, nervous about moving up a league from the minor duties of the XI teams.

Just leave the bad guys to me bro and we'll be fine.

At least you're useful.

"Brochure?" X-23 asks Tosh with a tone that suggests she doesn't really have much practice in being accommodating or easing people into things. "You too maybe?" she asks Sam.

"Okay, you know what, screw it..." she mumbles to herself before speaking up significantly louder. If someone was going to get scared away they probably wouldn't cut it anyway. "I know this is scary, but that doesn't mean you guys have to be scared. You wanna give this a shot? Go ahead. Is it risky? Yeah, probably. Should that stop you? Hell no, you guys are mutants. You're made from sterner stuff than normal people. We let Jubilee run around with us." she grins. "So don't think you don't have what it takes to do this, yeah?"

"For what it's worth, she's right," Michaela said, walking up to grab one of the binders without the slightest bit of hesitation. "Being on the teams at the Institute changed all sorts of things for me for the better. So take a shot. Guaranteed it'll change your life."

Tosh felt like wuss for a moment before he gathered his resolve and grabbed a binder. Bruce was brave, and he was just another him, so then Tosh could be brave... right?

"You certainly look braver than me," Tosh provided.

"Oh that is just fantastic!" she grins, not a trace of sarcasm in her voice. It might be possible that she's looking forward to putting Carlos through the wringer. "Here's the starter package, just fill out the forms in there and you're good to go."

Trev appeared wearing a pair of athletic shorts and an XU tee, a red-faced and sweaty mess from the gym, and spotted the crowd and the sign-up table. He paused for a moment seeming to debate going to the table.

C'mon fatty...you could learn to fly if you really kept up with your training...plus it might actually motivate you to work out...

He seemed to nod to himself matter-of-factly before walking up to get signed up. "So...just take one of these packages and fill it all out?"

"Everyone here is remarkable in some way. We've got shapeshifters, gadget guys, scrappers, and loud guys." She glanced at Trev with a teasing grin when she said the last part of the list. "Everyone brings something useful to the team. Everyone. The only way you don't add value to the team is if you don't try. Trust me, I was there when I was at the Institute. My parents had me convinced my powers were some sort of curse. But I worked through that and I discovered just how awesome they could be and being on the teams was a part of that."
