Wanda settles in one of the lounge areas of the XUB, sipping coffee from her travel mug and flipping through some things on her phone. She frowns and deletes a picture on the phone and then goes back to flipping through other pictures.

Miriam walks in, the usual metaphorical cloud of dreariness particularly thick around her as she wordlessly orders a coffee, much to the confusion and then a slight disgruntlement of the barista. When she sees Wanda she tries to muster a smile, but fails and instead just raises her hand to wave at her slightly. "Hey. I... got your cookies."

Wanda looks up, tucking her phone away. "Hopefully they were to your liking," Wanda says before she registers Miriam's mood. "What's wrong?"

"Want to talk about it?" Wanda scoots over on the tiny couch she's sitting on, making room for Miriam to sit if she wants.

"I'm not sure that would go over well..." she says, though she sits down regardless. "The last friendship I tried to salvage just got ruined even worse."

"Fair enough," Wanda says, obviously not wanting to push Miriam into another fight like last time. "Just know if you ever need to unload, you can always find me. What's in your coffee?"

"Hot water and coffee beans. If I want mocha-flavored molten ice-cream I'll buy that instead." she tries to joke.

"You may judge away, I will still enjoy my coffee regardless," she says, sipping at the travel mug. "So did the cookies appease?"

"I picked at an obvious sore spot with someone I just met," Wanda says, "It was rude."

"Not too bad if you don't count bringing a visitor in that the headmistress promptly arrested because she apparently attacked some of the students at some point. That was a strange day."

"Well, it wasn't intended as a trap on my part. She was interested in the school, so I called ahead and cleared it for her to come for a tour. I was a little surprised at what happened."

"Strange seems to be stock and trade around here," she says, taking a longer drink of her coffee. "We should try for another outing. My treat."

"Yeah, it's fine. Let me take care of this one." she reassures Wanda, the smiling corner of her mouth cracking into a bit of a grin.
