"I have also beaten seven people with pool cues," Onyx offers helpfully. "They offer an extended reach, but most are not made for extreme stresses. They will break and splinter rather easily if you apply too much force."

Onyx starts setting up at an empty pool-table to the best of her memory. She knows the balls have to be placed in the triangle-thing, but she doesn't seem to be aware there's a particular order.

Since Nailah doesn't either she just goes along with it and shoots the white ball into the triangle of balls without much thought, sending balls everywhere but into pockets. That doesn't keep her from grinning smugly though.

Onyx takes the next shot. She hits the ball squarely and with a great deal of force, making it go flying wildly. It scatters more balls, knocking two random ones into pockets, before it drops into the center pocket.

"I do not think you are supposed to do that," Onyx says.

"You're dang right you're not supposed to do that!" a tiny voice said from the pocket Onyx had slapped the ball into.

"What the heck? But you're supposed to put the balls in the holes!" Nailah objects before it occurs to her that she's arguing with the pool table. "Wait, does the table have, like, a computer chip in it or something?"

"That would be a very strange thing to do," Onyx says. "But I am also not completely certain about the exact rules of the game. Especially in the West. Maybe it is normal to have a talking pool table?"

"You," he said, pointing at Nailah, "missed entirely. You," he said, pointing at Onyx, "did sink a couple striped, which would mean that would be your targets, except you ALSO knocked the cue ball into the side pocket! That means you've gotta get the other balls out and you lose your turn."

"Fine, but don't make me miss." she says, lining up a shot and shooting Will into one of the solids and it goes in roughly the right direction but it bounces off the edge of the pocket. "Bah."

However, the miss was all Nailah's fault--the ball never deviated from a straight pattern.

It also didn't seem to be shifting back.

Onyx pauses, seemingly hesitant.

"I do not know if I am comfortable with this," Onyx says. "Shouldn't this hurt? I am not supposed to hurt civilians."

"I don't know. He seemed fine after you knocked him into the pocket and I didn't hit it much harder..." she says, leaning over the table to take a closer look at the cue ball.

It was pretty darn round and shiny. She could see her face in it!

As Nailah was looking, an impatient looking emoji face appeared on the ball, and flashed a couple times.

"If you say so, ma'am," Onyx says. She leans over and tries to hit the ball.

Unfortunately, she puts a bit too much pepper on it and the ball is launched off the table.

The ball bounced once, twice, three times, and then shifted back into Will.

"OK, OK, time out." he said, rubbing his head, as he grew back to full size, sitting there in his naked Ken-doll form.
