"Duuude, you're flying!" Shari cheers before leaning over the cliff to watch the stone crash into the waves and throw up a huge splash of water. "Bloosh!"

Alex lands beside her, blushing. "Umm, yeah. I can do that. Sometimes."

"Why only sometimes anyway?"

"My powers depend on how people...feel? I mean, specifically, towards me, you know?" Alex says, feet coming back to the ground.

"Wait you mean the harder I cheer the more you can fly?"

"It's more like, the more you like me or believe in me?" Alex says. "I don't know. It's kind of tricky."

"So more... I believe you can fly?" she chuckles. "But that's awesome. Flying's the best. Well, that's what those who can keep telling me. Wings are complicated, lemme tell you."

"Oh wow, I'll bet," Alex says. "I mean, you'd probably have to make your bones hollow and everything too."

"Wait what? Hollow? That sounds mondo unpleasant..."

"Well, I mean, birds have hollow bones to reduce body weight and make it easier to fly," Alex says.

"Ooh! That makes a buncha sense. Maybe it wasn't the wings that sucked. Just the rest of me." she laughs.

Alex snorts, "You're fine. I mean, I still pull doorknobs off by accident."

"It might help if you learned about biology and stuff a bit," Alex says.

"I guess... but that sounds incredibly boring. Besides, I know a lot about biology! Like, there's the squishy thing that filters out crud." she says, pointing at her abdomen. "I try to keep at least one a those, usually. Or the splorch. That one comes and goes."

Alex giggles, "Well, as long as you keep your splorxh under control it should be fine."

"That's what I always say." she laughs. "Maybe I'll try to sit in on a class, see how boring it really gets..."

"You don't usually go to classes?" Alex asks.

"Uhm... well I'm... still trying to figure out what to take and all..." she lies.
