[Michaela Havlin]

Michaela was sitting in the lounge of the XUB and it looked like she had a small stack of the syllabi from her classes in front of her and she appeared to be going through them and entering things on her laptop while cross-referencing them with each other.

[Shane Marsh]

"What's with universities and having enough bloody paperwork to require axe murdering a rainforest?" Shane commented from nearby.

[Michaela Havlin]

"It is a lot, but I like the feel of paper. And it beats having a bunch of documents open on my computer and trying to reference them all."

[Shane Marsh]

"Cross-referencing what exactly? Books and supplies?"

[Michaela Havlin]

"Major assignments mainly. Don't want any surprises. I hate surprises."

[Shane Marsh]

"Even good ones?"

[Michaela Havlin]

"There is no such thing."

[Shane Marsh]

"'Surprise! Here's a bunch of money.' sounds good to me."

[Michaela Havlin]

She seemed to ponder that for a bit while she made notes. "Yeah, too many issues with someone showing up to hand you money. Raises too many questions."

[Shane Marsh]

"Christmas presents?"

[Michaela Havlin]

"Causes anxiety about what's in them," she smiled. "I've given a lot of thought to this stuff."

[Shane Marsh]

"Bah. Seems like a waste to me, spending that much effort on trying not to have fun."

[Michaela Havlin]

"I just don't see how surprises are 'fun'. There are other, better ways to have fun."

[Shane Marsh]

"Guess I know who not to worry about at Christmas," he teased, "Aside from the just now meeting bit."

[Michaela Havlin]

"Michaela," she said, by way of introduction.

[Shane Marsh]

"Shane," he smiled.
