"And I'll confess, I'm worried about what that dependency means if us stops being a thing."

"I'm not going to abandon you. Either of you."

"I don't think you would, but I don't like that she's signing you up for the long haul."

"...haven't we been through a lot together already?"

"Yeah," she sighs, "Maybe that's just a me things. Seems like everything turns sour eventually."

"We do six impossible things before breakfast most days."

"Let's break the trend."

"I'm willing to give it a try," she says, reaching out to touch Sam for the first time.

"And I mean... if you think it'll help, I'll talk to her. I just don't know where the line between that and telling her what to do is, especially if she seems to want to be told what to do."

Tereza shrugs, "Up to you. She's had her fun, so I'm not giving her control of the body for a while. But if you're not comfortable, then I'm not going to push you."

"I guess I'll just... reassure her a bit. Work on boundaries."

Tereza leans back against the car, "Okay, whenever you're ready."

Sam closes her eyes and starts the descent into Tereza's mind.

The bonfire in Tereza's mind is burning with a cold, blue flame and snow dusts the trees around the clearing. The throne on the far side of the fire is piled with furs, but otherwise currently empty. Around the clearings are the marks of some raucous party with broken underbrush and some unidentifiable flotsam that disappears if you look at it too hard. There's almost the smell of wood smoke, but it's distant and not from the fire in front of her, which seems to not be consuming its fuel.

Samantha's avatar descends into the clearing. She bears more than a little resemblance to the vision of the Morrigan from the previous night, with wolfish features still present. She's wrapped in furs herself as she starts stalking around the clearing, looking for pawprints in the snow.

Paw prints are all over the clearing. It's a massive mess of tracks, but eventually she finds a stumbling, dragging set of tracks that heads off away from the clearing and the smell of smoke.

Sam shakes her head at the condition of the tracks, and starts following them quickly.

The trail eventually leads to a large overhang, almost a cave of sort, sheltered from the wind and the obvious elements that have overtaken the forest. Seeing a large werewolf sulk is probably not a sight she's used to, but that appears to be exactly what's going on. The wolf is curled up under the overhang, head on hands. At the sound of Sam's approach, her ears perk and she looks over, sulk fading into hope.

"You don't need to hide, love."

She makes her way into the den.

"I'm not here to be cross with you."

She's cross with me. She jerks her head in the direction Sam had come.

She won't let me into the clearing until she's cleaned it up. That's what she told me. I was just having fun with my amazing... She looks Sam over.

The wolf tilts her head at the Morrigan. Do you not want to lead?

The wolf looks confused, trying to hold two contradictory things in her head as the Morrigan tells her that the Morrigan can be wrong.

Sam is quiet for a few moments before she speaks again.

"...you know you won't lose me if you did that, right?"
