Warm Reception

On the day of New Year's Eve, a rented subcompact car pulls up to the gates. Rolling down the window, a pale-haired woman in sunglasses presses the intercom.

"Here to see Tereza Rozanov. I believe I'm expected?"

"Uhm... Hang on." comes the voice from the receptionist over the intercom after a moment. It seems he hadn't been expecting anybody to arrive today. After a couple moment the intercom crackles to life again. "I have a note here saying that she's expecting a visit from her family and to notify the head-mistress so, uh, if you wouldn't mind waiting a moment. She usually responds pretty quick."

"Of course, take as long as you like."

At the moment, any trace of a Russian accent was absent. The woman was speaking in perfect received pronunciation.

Despite what the receptionist said, it takes a while for anybody to show up. When she finally does Ashlie is trudging through the thin cover of snow that still seems to persist on the grounds, wearing a coat with a fur frill. For just a couple moments she seems to be wearing a neutral, almost slightly confused expression before recognition suddenly seems to snap into place.

"Ah yes, hello Miss Romanov."

"I think you'll find to your relief that I am in fact Miss Agnes Haversham, an actuary from Swansea with all her papers in order."

"Any resemblance to an international terrorist is purely coincidental."

"Riiiight. Of course." she says and winks at Natalya before stepping over to the side of the gate to push a button that makes it rattle open.

"Surprised you showed up in person. I know those cameras aren't just for show," she says as she pulls the car through the gates, starting for the parking garage.

"There's not a lot going on right now." she says with a shrug as the car pulls past her and she follows it at her own leisurely pace.

"How long do you think you'll be staying in the area?" she asks once Natalya has parked the car.

"I was mostly planning on three days, but I can stay longer if you need me to," she says after parking and getting out, pressing her key-fob to lock it.

"At the least, I'll make sure you get your chance to pump me for information," she smirks.

"Hmm? Oh. Yeah." she says, distractedly. "Three days is fine, I suppose."

"I must say, from when we spoke before I was expecting you'd be more formal."

Someone had apparently thought to call Tereza as well. In the distance, she emerges from the dorms and begins headed in their general direction at a studied leisurely pace.

"I don't think you would want me to be more... formal with you." she says as a brief, almost menacing frown passes over her face.

"I think I've been out of schooling a bit too long for 'stern headmistress' to work on me," she chuckles.

She looks Ashlie over for a few moments.

"...you're augmented, aren't you?"

"Yes. Quite the unnatural abomination." she deadpans.

"That's your baggage, not mine. I'm just used to looking for the signs."

Ashlie chuckles to herself. "And here is your baggage now." she says, glancing at Tereza making her way over for a moment.

Tereza's closer now, probably close enough to hear anything else that's said... if one knows about the werewolf thing. She seems to be smiling at the moment and trying hard not to look too excited.

"Baggage is only baggage if you let yourself feel the weight."

"This? This is something I should've done a long time ago."

"I'll leave you to it then." Ashlie says and wordlessly walks off before Tereza gets much closer.

"Pleasant conversation?" She asks when she's within polite talking distance of Natalya.

"She is. She's an okay sort once you figure out how to deal with her." Her hands are stuffed in the pockets of a leather jacket. "Was beginning to think you'd forgotten about me," she jokes.

"It takes a bit of time to put together an identity that gives your school plausible deniability on handing you over to an international terrorist."

"That's right. Wouldn't want me to return to my criminal ways," she quips. "My girlfriend's still in Ireland, so my room's pretty empty right now," she says, gesturing back towards the dorms.

"Ah, want to stay in for a bit? I'm game," she says, starting towards where Tereza gestured.

"Well, let's start with the tour then," she says, heading towards the dorms. Once inside the dorms, she led the way to her room. The two twin beds had been pushed together, though there was only evidence of one person recently sleeping it the combined bed. There was a guitar in one corner next to some practice drum pads. One of the desk hutches had a bunch of pictures posted in the back of the hutch, showing Tereza and various other people in what looked like various places in Europe. Natalya might recognize some of the people if she was familiar with some of the Brotherhood groups. There were newer pictures of Tereza with the redhead from Crimea. That desk was far messier than the other desk. As Tereza steps into the room, Natalya gets a look at "Leader of the Pack" and the wolf's head on the back of the jacket. "Welp, home sweet home," Tereza says.

"I *think* she's trying to get me to get off my ass and actually form the band. Although she is a fan of the whole 'werewolf' thing." She chuckles, "My life is... kind of complicated."

"Given the type of music I like, you're probably right." She pulls a picture off the desk and hands it to Natalya. It's a shot of the redhead out by the lighthouse. "You've met her before."

"She's a good person. Good for me too. Not sure what I'd do without her." She tucks the picture back into the desk. "I really do appreciate you coming."
