Highway to Hell

The Estate's meticulously kept gardens, including a hedgemaze that students have occasionally described as "sadistic" and a sizable rose garden. Benches in shaded spots are plentiful, and the gardens are popular to study in on pleasant days. The nearby stables are still maintained with a number of well-heeled equines.

Steph caught her breath after a moment and forced herself up, curious what the heck was going on, and following Em.

“What in the world...?”

The scooter is idling, almost as if panting if one were inclined to fanciful notions. It slowly winds down, and its engine stops.

Emilie waited for just the right moment, then bolted for the bike, Riker'ing onto the seat and buckling down, grabbing a hold of the handles and bubbling herself and the bike together.

"Not this time Stanton!" She exclaims.

"I got you dead to rights friend! Change back!" She says, tilting the front bar back and forth to provoke him.

"I don't know how often he does it, I just know that he can and I found him having jacked my bike one night, probably for study...."

Emilie frowned at the now docile bike.

"Seriously dude this isn't funny anymore. Where's my bike and why are you pretending to be it?"

Stephanie looked at the exchange, befuddled, before cautiously approaching and bike and bending over to sniff it. She had an odd recollection for some reason, of what people smelled like so. Maybe she could smell a Willcycle?

It smells like hot metal. Motor oil. Petrol.

“It...well it just smells like a motorcycle should? I’d think that if it was Will it would...well, it might at least sort of smell like ...Will?”

"I dunno.... Is that how that works?"

She asked, not a shifter herself.

“I...think so? I’m new to this myself...”

“Does weird stuff just sort of...happen around here? I haven’t even been here this long and I’ve seen aliens, the Point blow up then NOT, was in a weird...tv show and now a bike with a mind of its own.”

"Weird is the name of the game around here." Emilie replied, trying to spur the bike as if it were a horse.

Steph stared intently at the bike as well, expecting it to do something at Em’s provocations.

As if to make them liars, the bike remains cold and inanimate.

He's a tricky one, that Stanton.
